Spark plug change - had all Densos

I just finished changing the plugs. I assumed they were never done since the PO had all work done at Toyota and there was no record of it. I was surprised to pull all Denso plugs as opposed to the Denso/NGK split that I've heard about on here.

Does that mean they were changed at some point? Or was it only some that had the split from the factory? 2003 v8 if that matters.

Being that you have a 2003 and all plugs are the same Densos, my gut feeling is yes they have been changed, but you don't mention how many miles are on the 4Runner, that info would tell more of it's history IMHO.

Also what was the condition of the old plugs, wear, gap, color of electrode etc.

250k. They certainly should have been changed before. But again, no record of it from the dealer where all maintenance was done previously.

At 250,000 miles I'm sure the dealer would have changed the plugs if indeed all maintenance was done there, or it was done by the PO or another garage especially since all the plugs are the same, I have never heard of matching sets from the factory.

Is the documentation of work done in the form of receipts/paperwork or???

It's a printout from the dealer showing line items. I guess it doesn't really matter either way I was just curious if anyone else changed plugs that they knew were original to find out they were all the same type.

If they were orig. they would have a little white paint mark on the top of the plug.

Thanks. They do not have this. I'm going to guess that we're done as part of the "basic tuneup" at 133k.
