Spark plug upgrade?

I've been noticing an improved gas mileage after moving into platinum (Pt) spark plugs in both my 92 car and 2000 cruiser. I used twin Tip (TT) denso spark plugs on both.
On highway the Cruiser did 12.5 - 13.2 MPG before and I am getting about 14.5- 15.0 MPG now.
Car is also shown a 2-3 miles per gallon improvement.

Since I do not find dual ground platinum for the 4runner, and the purpose of the dual ground is to expand the life cycle of the plug, the iridium (Ir) should be a better choice.

The denso global shows prado 3.4 L 5vzfe can use IK16:

What do you all suggest?

We are very lucky to live in this great country..... in Australia, they pay $20 a piece, while here we can get a set of 4 Ir-plugs for $22. A friend of mine in Australia wants a set so I'll get 12 plugs: 6 for me and 6 for his prado.

I thought iridium was used to extend plug life past 100k?

From reading on here most believe the dual plug is required vs. iridium not so much.

Buy hey who knows, why not try them out and give us some feedback? You already have experience with them on 2 other vehicles. :cowboy:

When I bought the black 96 it had the NGK iridiums in it. I noticed no difference in going back to EK series plugs.

Are you sure the EK type plug doesn't come in platinum?
