Spark Plugs

Im looking to change my spark plugs our on my 2004. Anyone have any reccomendatoins for which kind of plugs to go with. Also I have never changed out my plugs before is there anything I need to know before i dig in?

I was also wondering what the difference is with the gap and how i would find out which gap I need. Sparkplugs.com shows some with .44 gap and some with .35.

You should go with the stock Denso plugs. Your vehicle probably has Denso on one side and NGK on the other side. The NGK plugs for the V6 have been discontinued.

As far as the gap, I believe .043 is the correct gap. The Denso plugs come pre-gapped at .044. But you can regap any plug to .043, regardless of how it's gapped from the manufacturer.

I just purchased the Densos from rockauto.com for about $3/plug

Denso's or NGK's in a platinum or iridium is probably the best choice to replace the long-life OE plugs. The manual will give you replacement plug number in NGK and Denso I believe. The gap should be listed on the emissions label under the hood or in the manual. The V8's come with 100k (or is it 120k?) plugs from the factory so you'll want to use the Platinum or Iridiums as opposed to standard plugs...

Yes, sorry, I was thinking of the V6 only. Your V8 plugs don't have to be replaced until 100,000 miles. If you need to replace them, just get exact replacements as listed in your owner's manual.

DENSO iridium. personally, i would nt wait to have 100,000 miles on it to change the plugs.

I am about to hit 50k miles so i was going to change them. What would you reccomend
do you know if you have to remove the intake to get some of the plugs out on an 2004 v8
