SPC Light Racing UCA Contact Warning

I recently purchased some light racing uca's and after bottoming out a couple times I have heard some clunks. Not knowing if it is my coil overs or just the old car but I looked to see and found this. If you have the camber adjustment set as far negative as it can go it will hit your shock crown. I don't know if SPC is aware of this but I want to give everyone a heads up.

I originally posted thinking you where not on the correct settings but now realize im set to the same position as you to push the tire forward and help clear larger tires. I dont get the same contact you are having.

Who cares what setting he's running at, the UCAs shouldn't be able to adjust that far if they start contacting things. Assuming something isn't wrong with OP's truck then it looks like a design flaw.
 
Could also be Toyota assembly tolerance as well. Can't tell from the picture but it looks like it contacted maybe a 1/16"-1/8" of the arm which given Toyota's tolerances, manufacturing tolerances, SPC's tolerances, chassis movement and flex, I could see it happening. Quick touch of a grinder and problem solved. Playing devil's advocate.
 
No damage on that washer? Not even a scratch? Something isn't adding up. Metal and metal contact should cause some kind of damage the the UCA.

That is true, good eye!

OP if it hit at the upper ball joint like you said there should be some damage on the gold part of the ball joint that has SPC stamped into it. Is there contact damage there that we cant see?
 
Mine are all the way in too. No contact. I have them set like that so I can keep it on the "D"(in the middle) so no contact is made with the rear wheel well. If you go with the other settings ("A to "C") it moves the entire UCA back, which, with bigger tires, rubs on the back of the wheel well.
As MStudt said, where's the damage on the UCA cam? (that's what the OP has circled) Should be obvious. Let's see the damage on the cam so we can be sure that's the culprit.

Actually now that I think about it mine are set that way too, i was thinking they where set the other way around. I also have no contact, and just tore through a pretty bad trail yesterday.

Chances are the lifts and tires are different. With that in mind the installation will be different as well.

It actually all depends on the set up. Here are the installation instructions, and the variations the ball joint can be set to.

Does it look like the contact is from the top side of the upper strut mount? If it contacted the top side, why didn't it contact the bottom side of it?

Also, how about a picture of the marks on the UCA itself? should be paint removed and a nice mark on it also.
 
Ok here are more pictures and yes they are properly installed with camber set to full negative and caster at 0.

The profile of the damage on the mount does not appear, to me at least, to match the profile of the upper ball joint.
I too have the spc/light racing arms, have flexed the ever living crap out of my suspension, and have never had contact.
 
All I know is that this did not happen until after I installed these. The only other things I can think of are the spindle, the ABS wire bracket on the spindle, or the cotter pin on the UBJ. But I highly doubt any of those can come that close in contact. I'll throw up some photos looking from the underside.

What component on the suspension has matching damage? Something has to. We don't need more pictures, we need you to tell us what is hitting the mount. Spindle, maybe? Get in there and look for the matching damage.
Did you install these yourself? Or did you have a shop do it?
