Speaker Location

Hi,

I just got 2005 Limited V8 2WD w/ NAV 8Speakers.

I have couple questions:

1. Where's the location for the other 2 Speakers (some 4runner has 10 speakers and only 8 w/ nav) ?? pictures would be great

2. Is it worth to upgrade it to 10 speakers?

3. is it possible to upgrade it?

I have the 10 speaker JBL ... speaker locations are as follows ...


(1) One in the middle top of the front console deck
(2) One mid/high towards the top of each of the the two front doors
(2) One large speaker towards the bottom of the two front doors
(2) One large speaker towards the bottom of the two back doors
(1) subwoofer in the rear storage compartment, passenger side
(2) Small speakers mounted on the rear hatch posts, where the mirrors are on other models.

I am under the assumption that those speakers are missing from the Limited model for a reason .... I assume there is no built in connectors for those speakers in that model. I may be wrong though.

I am trying to track down the part for you online (the mesh speaker covers....). With that, you can then mount any small speaker back there.

Note : it says 03 and 04 ... but I am fairly certain it is the same as the 05 ...

I don't think its worth the trouble to get those speakers where the mirrors are. I haven't ridden in a 4Runner without the JBL so I can't say if there is an audible difference.

Thanks for the info. I did buy the grills which are nice but couldn't fit any tweeters there. Now I have a choice!
