Speaker Sizes

hey i just picked up a 1998 toyota 4runner SR5 a month or 2, but looking to replace my front and rear speakers, but does anyone kno what the speaker size's are and if you need to mod them to fit, im looking to get mtx speakers

the fronts are 6.5", I believe the rears are the same...

I took my door panel off, and it looks like they fit in with no modding...I'm doing the front tomorrow, not the rear for a while, but I'll let you know!

i though the rears was a 4? or maybe that may be on newer models

I replaced the fronts in my '97 with some CDTs. They were 6.5s and didn't fit in the original plastic brackets. I had to use longer screws and some washers as spacers. Sounds awesome! (900w rms system!) I didn't replace the rears but I think they are 5.25s

The rears are 4".

The rear is a 4" but you can buy an adapter to make it fit a 5 1/4"....that's what I did to mine
