speaker upgrades

I'm upgrading the system in my '01 SR5, & I'd like some input from you guys regarding 6.5" component speakers for the front doors. I don't want to spend much more than $200 for these. I have an alpine head unit, & will be putting some infinity 4" in the rear doors with an Alpine V12 4 ch amp w/ about 300 watts.
Whadda ya' got, or whadda' ya' like?:awais:

I have infinity perfects and I like them... and that will keep you around your budget if you go the ebay route

but as always, I suggest going 5.25 in the rear vs the stock 4"...

I'm only doing the 4"s in the rear because I already have some Infinity's from my last car. Do you have to cut or mod somehow to make the 5.25" fit in the rear doors?

Just an adapter... I guess you can make your own, but for that cheap, why?

Well, JL it is. Tommorow I'll be installing the VR650 csi components in the front doors and infinity 4" in the rear (for now) w/ the Alpine V12 4 ch to feed them. Thanks a lot alaskanboi for telling me I can get 5.25" in the back doors. Just when I thought I was gonna' be done spending $ on stereo stuff for awhile. Boy is my fiancee gonna' be mad at you!:bash:

Well, it's done. I just picked her up from the stereo shop and all I can say is HOLY HI-FIDELITY, BATMAN! I may as well not have rearview mirrors anymore, 'cuz I can't see nothin' but an earthquake out of em' when the bass hits and I could probably cut glass with the highs, they're so sharp! I'm sure I pissed a few people off at the stoplights on the way home, but ya' gotta' test it out, right? Yeah, best (insert ridiculous amount here ) bucks I ever spent! Rock on!

Did you buy those adapters in that eBay ad?

No, I didn't buy the adapters as I just stayed with the 4" in the rear doors. I may decide to upgrade those later if this starts to wear off. ( or when I start to lose my hearing.)

I was too late! It is amazing how simple those things are, yet there aren't thousands of people making them..

The urge to upgrade will be soon enough
