Spec-D Lights

I have some lights that I would like to try on my 4runner. Thing is I have an 09' and they only fit 03-05, I talked to Tayzorz a bit about it because he has the same lights I want. Although he stated he had to trim a bit behind the grille and had to do some jimmy work to get the lights to fit.
I also have read though that you can just purchase the OEM 05' headlight trim and the light will fit, if the trim thing will work then should I just buy item #4? Can anyone shed some light or give me some insight?

the spec-d may have projectors, but you do realize the stock headlights on the 03-05 use a different low beam bulb so you would have to change the connector, so im pretty sure the same thing applies. also the grille might need to be trimmed at the corners, i know theres at least one more thing needed but cant remember right now. are you looking to put he blacked out halo's on? if all you want are blacked out headlights on the 09, ebay may still have for sale. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-2009-T...its=Model:4Runner&hash=item51b62c27aa&vxp=mtr

The Spec-D lights take an H1 bulb (NOT 9006 like '03-'05 headlights). Not sure what the '06+ headlights use....

To the OP, I have the Spec-D lights. If I were you, I would keep your '09 headlights, add an HID kit, and black them out if you're going for that look. The projectors in the Spec-D lights are not that high quality, you are better off staying stock if you already have the updated ('06+) headlights.

Hmmm, alright. Yea all I'm going for is the blacked out look, although I don't really like the stock headlights style. I would still be fine with just blacked out ones. So I guess I'll take a look around or possibly have to do it myself with an oven or heat gun and take the light apart.

ebay has blacked out oem style lights but they are around $200
