Speedohealer Install help

I just installed a universal speedohealer v2 in my '05 sport... When I test it on start up, it displaying that it is working correctly. I was also able to program it correctly as needed. However, when installed my speedometer does not work! If I unplug the SH and use the jumper, the speedometer works normal. That tells me that the wiring is fine.

Here's where I'm unsure about the whole installation... The instructions tell you to wire one side to the SENSOR and the other to the SIGNAL. I assumed the signal was coming from the wire harness and the sensor was the gauge. Is this backwards???

There's a how-to somewhere on here. I can't find it using tapatalk, but I remember the signal wire being tricky. Try searching for it, if I find it I'll link it.

I've read all the install articles and followed them closely. It sounds like I have it all hooked up right. Maybe I have a bad unit? Anyone else install one and have your speedo read zero?

Mine works fine. Did you follow these instructions for wiring?

Yes, I followed the instructions. Talked to a tech support guy today and he determined that the outbound signal is not getting from the SH to the speedometer. When I test it, it's receiving a signal, but not sending. Not sure if it's a bad harness or a bad head unit... He was very confident that the head unit was not bad, but I can't find any damaged pins or damaged wire.

I just installed a V4 in my 03 Limited and im having the same issue. Let me know if you get it resolved.

I went through numerous calls and emails with Blue Monkey Motor Sports (the importer of SH) and they FINALLY opted to just send me a new head unit. They were pretty defensive about the whole thing and kept claiming that it was HIGHLY UNLIKELY that the unit was bad because they supposedly test every one 3 times before shipping them. It took me about 3 days of talking to different people and conducting different tests they kept asking me to do. However, we could never get an outbound signal in any test. The new one has yet to arrive. I'll let you know when it gets here.

While entering the test mode per the directions does your unit give you a "t" like the directions say or does it give you another value? Mine gives me an "F" which is backwards. Unfortunatley there are no troubleshooting directions available on the internet.

Mine gives me a "t" as it should. However, I cannot roll the wheels to see if it blinks per the instructions. They did tell me to press the SET button while in test mode and it should cause the speedometer to display a different reading than "0" for a couple seconds. This is a test of the OUTBOUND signal and where I am having problems.

I did just get the new unit in the mail. I will try to set it up over lunch and see if it works now...

Alright, the backwards "F" you are getting is actually a lower case "t" and you're looking at it upside down...

Also, I fixed mine this weekend. I had the wires reversed behind the gauge cluster. The directions are misleading and don't really explain what the SIGNAL and SENSOR cable are properly, but the green cable should attach to the Speedo and the white cable to the harness. Once I swapped them it worked great.

Congrats on getting yours fixed. I called the dealer of my speedohealer on Friday and talked to their tech support. He said that its possible that one of the connections inside the unit itself could be broken but he wanted to check with the Healtech engineers before he made any decisions on mine. I would have to verify but I believe mine is hooked Green to speedo and white to the harness. Im pretty sure ive tried it both ways during my own trouble shooting. Hopefully mine gets resolved soon.

They mentioned that as a possible issue to me also... Are you talking to Todd or Norbert? I spent time on the phone with both of them. I would highly recommend taking the time to double check your connection behind the cluster. If you're anything like me, you can take it apart in about 2 minutes with a 10mm socket and a Phillips head screwdriver after all this!

Both actually. Yeah i plan on double checking it again in the morning just to make sure. It would be nice if the wires where crossed.
