speedometer and odometer not working.

Good morning everyone so a couple days ago i got a code for all 4 wheel speed sensors all were bad so i replaced all of them and then my speedo ect stopped on me and started bouncing around. so i replaced the transmission speed sensor also no luck. anyone have any .02 to throw in on this? dont like letting my wife drive while she cant see how fast shes going. 2001 toyota 4runner drive by wire not cable. thanks in advance just need her back functioning right.

I would check the voltage to the dash cluster. If it is receiving proper power, then your gauges could be going out. FSM should show procedures for testing

all 4 sensors went bad at the same time?

I would be HIGHLY suspect of that.

I would think something more localized, the abs module or something else related.

im sure it is possible, but very unlikely for all the sensors to go bad at once.

i think it happened after i dropped it off in about 2.5 feet of water but it always worked untill i replaced the sensors even when it said they were bad the speedo still worked.?

Maybe a fuse? My dad's cluster went out on his 90's bmw last week and it was because a short tripped a fuse.

My son's Volvo speedo stopped working bought garmin, never fixed the speedo

checked fuses all good and i was under for a good 10 minutes before someone swam out with a strap. trucks never been the same since trans doesnt like to shit unless i let go of the gas now and it will keep climbing if i dont.

First off, with that length of time in the water, I would suggest replacing ALL fluids. Engine oil, transmission, transfer case, and both diffs.

Second, as memory serves me, the speedometer is actually a Class-2 data signal from the EBCM (ABS computer)to the cluster. The EBCM gets it's signal from the vehicle speed sensors on the wheels, so if all of them are screwing up and sending incorrect data, then the EBCM will be confused, and send the wrong data to the cluster. Also if this module were to get wet, or a connector get corroded, it would screw things up as well. Perhaps disconnect the EBCM and use a can of compressed air to blow out the connector terminals on the EBCM and the connector?

changed all the fluids the second i got out and spent all day doing it. and ill try to spray the compressed air also cant hurt...
