Does anyone know the part number for 1995 V6 Auto 4X4 speedometer cable? Mine is starting to scream and jump all over the place. Called the dealer and they have one for $110. Hoping to find one a little cheaper.

Couldn't find one on that site. In fact, having the hardest time even finding one online. I can find all kinds of cut to fit, universal cables, but read that those sometimes are not any good. Going to call a few other stealerships to see if I can find a lower price.

You sure you have a legit cable and not a electronic speedo? 95 should be a electric speedo sender.

I took the dash apart the other day and it's a cable hooked up to the back. Looks like the previous owner lubed it with ATF fluid. At least that's what I think it is. Some kind of red colored fluid on the tip of the cable.

Spray some lithium grease into the end and see if it quiets down.

It's been pretty quiet today. But now I have a weird tapping sound behind the speedometer. I'm going out to buy some of that grease later to see if that fixes it.

Mine screams when it is cold, then quiets down, but bounces up and down at all speeds a bit and messes up the cruise control. I need a new one.

Charlie. Try to lube it before buying a new one. It's not that hard to get to once you figure out how to rip the dash apart. Plus, lube only costs a few bucks vs. $100 for a new cable.

Mine didn't scream today, but the weather was HOT today. The needle bounces around for about 20-30 miles then calms down. Hoping when I go get some lithium grease, that'll take care of it.
