Speedometer Cable Replacement

Hey Guys,

For my '95, the cable is whining so bad in this weather its giving me ear problems. I've tried all the lubing suggestions but it keeps coming back. I must replace it, but I'm pretty reluctant to pay the 150$ + from the dealer for a new speedo cable. I found some Dorman 03205 cables for the '90-92 models are only 11$ online and from the pictures, the tranny thread connector and dash connector seem compatible.

Has anyone ever tried installing one?

Heres the link:

Dorman Speedometer Cable 03205 (03205) | The Car Connection

Think its worth it to try anyways?

I've replaced them before, it's easy enough. But I've only used OEM cables off of parts trucks, so I don't know about aftermarket replacements.

if it's an oem replacement, it'll be fine, just as long as it's not a "universal" replacement...major pain to put them in, been there, done that.
