SpiderTrax Installation

Quick spot on the great experience I had with SpiderTrax. Fast shipping, in my hands in 3 days (Colorado to Memphis, TN). I have a 97 SR5 4WD, and want to move into the Tundra modification, and some 33 MTs. Other threads indicate some rubbing, so I began with the SpiderTrax, in preparation. Well packaged, each kit includes 2 spacers, required nuts, & a tube of locktite.

Pictures of my original setup follow; installation was a straight-forward bolt on, use a Torque wrench, specs are provided.

Literally 10 minutes per wheel, with a hydraulic jack and a jack-stand. Looks and feels like a really nice product. Hub centric manufacture fit comfortably on the hubs, and reassured you it was designed this way. Great product, very pleased with the results, looking forward to additional mods, now.

I also just installed some on my 2003 last week. Amazing how those 4 spacers can change the look of your truck.

Saw the Kegerator in the background, did you? 1/2 Barrel Newcastle, $150, which equates to $0.99 per 12 oz. I am a big fan of buying in bulk!

What real effect do these have on our runners?

I cant seem to keep an alignment in the front and the tires.

I get wear marks on the inside of the fron tires the tread goes down to zero..

Replaced both lower balljoints... no help

Had two alignments this year.. no difference..

Would this make matters worse?

I really want these spacers so I can run my stock six spokes witht the tundra brake upgrade.

Have you gone to different shops for an alignment? Make sure that they aren't aligning it "good enough" because they can't adjust something (I had two lower cam bolts that were seized and could not be adjusted. Shops never told me about them, I found them myself)

I have been running the Spidertrax spacers for about a year. I wheel pretty hard and my alignment holds as well as w/o. They have not changed the steering feel at all. I do like the stance better and on off chamber trails, I feel a little better. I actually gained rubbing, w/spacers, due to the increased arc (reduced backspacing) of the front wheels while turning.
