Spidertrax Needed "?"

Hey all, I just ordered the DS 2.5 1.5 lift for my truck. I'm about to order some wheels also. The offset on the wheels are +20 and BS is 5.187

Stock on the 04 sport is +30 correct? That means that it would push my tire out 10 mm right? This stuff is pretty new to me so Bear with me. I don't think that is going to be enough even with trimming. I want to run the trail Grapplers in the 265/70/17

Can anyone offer up some assistance on this? Just want to know if I should order spidertrax or keep the $200 and invest in a different mod..

Thanks for any assistance you can give fellas..

cant u just order the wheels with an offset to push them out further instead of also having to buy spacers?

Chaz, thanks for the reply brother. The rims I'm ordering are the eagle alloy 050 the offset is +20 and the BS is 5.187 the rims only come in +20 I'm thinking I'm going to have to run the spidertrax just wanted a couple opinions before I spent $200 more.. I want a new deck but sounds like that money will be going to spacers.

The rims will fit fine with the backspacing you said.

According to your math.

Stock is +30

Your new rims is +20.

This means the offset is working in the same direction as the spacers.

If you add a 1.25" spacer (like most spidertrax) you will actually have moved the tire almost 1.5" for the stock location, which might get you into trouble.

I would try to shoot for a rim with a zero offset, or only get a 1" spacer to add to your +20 offset rims.

If you dont mind inset wheels run the +20 wheels without a spacer.

Thanks for your replies fellas. I went to discount and they test fitted the rims for me. They are going to work and I have an appt to go back later today to get the rims and duratracs mounted. They only had the 10ply E ratting tires the c range tires will be there later today. Needless to say I'm pretty freaking excited..

I only run stock size tires, but with them the 1.25" Spidertrax look tremendous. It gives my truck a much more agressive stance.

Those rims by themselves will be fine and you definitely won't "need" Spidertrax. I ran my 265/70R17 on the stock wheels with stock suspension without any problems... no rubbing at all. I added 2" of lift to the front and didn't have any rubbing UNTIL I added the Spidertrax. The fender liners had to be moved forward and the outside, front corners needed to trimmed, but I love the stance that the spacers give. If I ever get to buy aftermarket wheels, I will just get an offset/width that equals the spacers.

You'd be fine with the wheels alone, but those wheels plus spacers would look pretty awesome. There is a lot of info out there about trimming the fenders... it's easy and took me about 10 minutes. Be sure to post up some pics!!
