SpiderTrax vibration?

A couple of years ago I bought some wheel spacers (not spider trax) and at speeds starting at 45 and up the steering wheel began to shake more the faster you went. I quickly took them off and got rid of them. I want to run wider tires withouth buying new wheels. Has anyone ever experienced any vibration in the steering wheel with spider trax?

If they were cheap spacers they could have been out of balance. Also on the 4Runner you're required to have hub-centric wheel spacers, if they werent hub-centric then they would have definitely vibrated.

Spidertrax are hub centric and I havent heard anyone complain about vibration on here, at least not that I can remember.

I've been running my Spidertrax for 14 months (about 10,000 miles) with no problems what so ever. Assuming that you have no other issues (alignment, tire balance, etc), you'll be fine.

One thing I found after installing spidertrax is that if your tires/wheels are out of balance for some reason it's amplified when spacers are put on. I had a noticeable vibration on the highway with spidertrax which went away when they were removed. I got my tires rebalanced using a finger place or Haweka adapter and they've been smooth as can be with the same spacers installed the same way.

Not bad vibrations, but I had more with the spidertrax than without. Probably for the reasons listed above. I ended up selling mine and going with FJ wheels for the better offset (3/4" further out).

When I first added my Spidertrax, FJ coils, and Toytec spacer, I chased a vibration for a few weeks. It turned out to be an improperly balanced tire (high road force on just 1 tire) so I agree that the Spidertrax could "amplify" any imbalance condition that's barely noticeable without them.

I put my SpiderTrax on in January. Since then, I have:

- driven from Dallas to Los Angeles, Yosemite, and back
- cruised at 85 mph while driving through eastern California
- driven from Dallas to New Mexico and back for the solar eclipse
- off-roaded 3 times at an OHV park
- driven it to work daily
- upgraded to BFG A/T tires a size larger than previous trail tires
- replaced XREAS suspension with OW 2.5

I say all of this to point out that I have not experienced any vibrations or steering instability with SpiderTrax in combination with either suspension and tire set at any speeds.

I installed my Spidertrax 2 weeks ago and today I noticed a vibration on the highway at speeds around 65 mph.

So, if I do get my tires rebalanced, what's this "finger place" of "Hawkeka adapter". Assume it's some type of spacer method used to simulate the Spidertrax spacers...
