SPOD SE - added water protection?

Looking for advise for the more electrically inclined: I had corrosion problems with my SPOD SE (see pic). Almost looks like there was an arc from power to + on accessory 1?

SPOD is sending me a new replacement unit, but I haven't gotten a response back on if/how/what can be done to ensure a similar issue doesn't happen again.

So what would y'all recommend doing to add extra protection for this type of issue? I'm assuming it started with moisture/water penetration.

My thoughts are gasket around the lid to better seal, and plugging the wire access slots with silicone.

Definitely looks like water entered the spod.
What did the manufacturer say?

Did you do any water crossings and perhaps cause the damage?

I would try to seal the wires coming in from the bottom with silicone and then check under the cover periodically for any moisture accumulation.

I haven't gotten a response yet from the tech guys at SPOD.
They have sent me the new unit, so I got that going for me.

No substantial water crossings other than some deep flooded roads.

Taking your advise on silicone sealing the wire ports
