Sport Fender Flares on a Base 1996 4Runner...

Just wondering if anyone knew if the Sport fender flares would be a straight bolt on for a 1996 base 4Runner

Are you talking about the wide color matched Limited ones or the black SR5 ones?

What I should wrote were the fender flares off a Sport Edition 4Runner.

Here's references:

Notice how the center has no center cladding that is commonly seen with the Limited models.

I'm pretty sure those are just the same fender flares that Limiteds have.

When you say "fender flares" it is understood that you aren't talking about the extra cladding that Limiteds have.

I'll let someone else chime in though.

Yes, those flares will bolt on, but you will have to do some drilling. 01-02 sport flares are the basically the same as limited flares (without the door cladding), but 96-00 sport/highlander flares are different, as Clemonsfan was talking about.

Please don't ever get one of those car bra's.... UGLY!

It is obvious I am foreign to this topic, but how much drilling is involved? Is it major?

Look into the Bushwacker extended flares. They are wide like the Limited flares and bolt in very easy...

01-02 Sport Edition flares are actually a little different than the 01-02 Limited flares. The Limited flares kind of "tied into" the running boards, while the Sport Edition flares kind of curved back in

Since the 01-02 Sport Edition fender flares are slightly different than the 01-02 Limited Edition, will the application be a direct bolt on?
