Sport hood fitting On a 96t4r

Hey guys I recently got into an accident and banged up my t4r and I need to get a new hood, I figure if I'm dropping the cash I'd like to get a hood with a scoop on it. Mostly for the 100 hp it will add but I like the way they look too

I just wasn't sure if anybody has done it, and I it bolts directly on. Any advice or experience is much appreciated

Yes it bolts straight on I have been doing a bit of research on the hood and seems like getting a used one would be far cheaper then leaving the hood together.

Just did my 4th Gen Got mine on Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

It was taken from a Sport 2008 and was in perfect condition. This is definitely the way to go. A new one won't have the scoop inserts or the fire insulation and both of those are expensive items to add+painting and installing and the possible fitment issues. The factory take-off will be much cheaper and better

His year doesn't have the insulation, so he can buy aftermarket. Best thing to do if you can't find a used one, is buy one from Certa-fit. They're around $70. You can get the scoop parts for $106 from trdparts4u i believe...there's a link floating around somewhere. Then just find someone to paint it. And it is a direct bolt on, and I haven't seen anyone with fitment issues.

Where does the 100hp come from. My 2008 scoop is just for looks I don't believe I have seen a working factory scoop since the '60s.
