Sport Suspension Swap

Does any have a link to the procedure to swap out sport suspension (xreas), and move to conventional shocks and struts? I am looking for an elapse time as well?

search XREAS in this forum, you'll find lots of threads on it including removal. I believe there's connections where you can disconnect the hydraulic lines, other than that, that's the only thing different than installing/removing a standard shock. You can leave the connecting lines in place and just remove the shocks, I've heard of people cutting the lines too, if you're never going to use them again I suppose that's ok.

I watched this Low Range Off Road video but stated at the center fluid block on the frame rail. Just loosen one the front fitting and let it drain in to a pan, go slow it will spray a bit. And put a pan under each shock as you take the fittings off, there is a bunch of oil. The rest is just regular shock removal after the lines are off. I did however cut the lines that run under the cross member because I didnt care to save anything, it was all junk anyway.

There's junctions for the lines along the frame. In front of the center dampener between the B-Pillar and Front Wheel there should be a disconnect point, and tucked under the sheetmetal of the rear fender well between the B-Pillar and rear wheel will be the disconnect point for the rear shocks.

Just follow the hard lines, these disconnect points have valves in them so you won't spray yourself.

the easiest way is just have the truck up on 4 jack stands each corner, then if you dont mind the mess, have a towel covering up the bolt on the hose connection at the jack, youll see it squirt out if your not using a towel. this was will trash out the entire system, i just left the hoses zipped tied to the hardlines and out the way.

If you're in the rust belt like me, spend a few days (or weeks) soaking every nut and bolt with your favorite penetrating oil before you start wrenching.

Have a torch on standby the day you start ripping it out.

Get flare nut wrenches for disassembling the Xreas lines.

Pray that your cam bolts aren't seized so you can still get aligned.

Just be ready to spend a day or weekend on it. Every truck's underbelly is in different cosmetic shape.

I removed my XREAS system last year and it was very straight forward.
As others have already stated:
-Make sure that all wheels are off the ground so that the suspension is unloaded.
-Follow from the strut/ shock and you'll see a hard line. There will be a check valve with a really big nut. This is where you want to remove each component. I did it this way and didn't lose any fluid.

You can leave the center canisters and hard line attached to the frame rail or you can remove that stuff as well. For me working by myself in the driveway, it took all day (about 10 hrs) to remove the XREAS system and install an icon setup. The hard line and the canisters can also be removed down the road to save time. . .

Take your time and good luck. . .
