Spots on clear plastic

My wife has these spots on the clear plastic in front of the speedometer. No clue what they are from as I don't typically mess with her vehicle and I have no idea how to get rid of them.

Tried wiping them away but they just seem to reappear after the liquid dries.

Any ideas or suggestions or am I going to need to replace the entire piece.

I have old vehicles .. I polish my head light lenses with plastex polish..
I then had scratches on my center console on my 1996 Impala.. not deep but it also looked dull since it is over 20yrs .. I removed it and polished it up and it looked like new no damage perfect ..

product is for plastic will not do damage ..
I do not know how to remove this on the runner .. only 10 bucks on the plastex ..if it works then lookup how to remove those parts.

To the OP...has your wife been to a car wash or one of those so called 'detailers'...because I can tell you from experience that dash/interior dressing like Armorall will make those spots on the cluster lens...especially, if left to dry.

My wife's CRV came from a body shop with those kinds of spots on her car...the body shop 'detailed' and I use that term loosely, as a 'customer satisfaction service' (thanks for nothing). Unfortunately, the only thing that will remove it ends up ruining the lens...makes it worse. Ended up just replacing the lens...fairly cheap and easy on her car.

Is it some material on the plastic or is it an actual deformation in the plastic? Can you catch your fingernail on it or scrape it away?

It looks like overspray from a cleaning product. You could try 50/50 rubbing alcohol and water and see if it makes any difference. If nothing seems to work, you could also try buffing it with Nu Finish on a microfiber towel and see if that brings it out, before just replacing the lens outright.

So I used the PlastX that you suggested. Put it on a sponge and wiped the whole area down and left it on for about a minute then wiped away with a cloth and it came right off.

So thank you for the suggestion and input.

good feed back from your work, if members have plastic issues this will help ..

use a foam pad that is best.. I use a black foam pad on my black sedan with 3m paint polish on the paint looks like a mirror..

There is a small portion up near the very top of the plastic that still has some spots. I'm going to hit that spot this week and hopefully get rest of it. Although, if you're driving you wouldn't notice them at all.

I'll pick up a foam pad, will probably work better than a sponge honestly. I'm just glad it came off.
