Spotted this Beast today

Not understanding many of the comments...pretty immature if you ask me.

First, why can't someone drive an FJ and have a disability? Maybe he is a war vet, maybe he was in a motorbike crash, maybe he was born with a disability...and maybe he also happens to like FJs (it isn't far out or crazy). There are countless reasons why he or she might have that tag. Making a comment because a disabled person drives and FJ makes no sense...last I checked disabled folks have climbed Everest and Kilimanjaro and have done countless other amazing things...which is probably more than most of us have done.

Second...I don't get the whole "mall rated" thing (and I know it is a play on jeep...). So none of us have ever driven our 4x4 to the store? My 4runner is my only car, I drive it everywhere. On trails and to the supermarket. It goes to the supermarket much more than it goes on the trails. That's life for most of us. Lets face it, 99.9% of the time the 4runner is probably more than any of us need. I got by ok with my honda civic; maybe I didn't drive trails but I mountain biked, hiked, camped, and went on plenty of awesome adventures in the civic. Maybe a select few of us use our 4x4 only off road as a second car, and if that is you that is awesome, congrats. For the rest of us, the 4runner probably does spend more time in the parking lot of a store or in our driveway than it does on a trail...and that is ok too. What are you trying to say? "Oh man that guy is such a looser bro, he drove his FJ to the store" Grow up...there are seriously tons of photos on this site of 4runners in a drive way or parking lot. How come we're not all saying "mall rated" for those?

Lastly....This FJ isn't completely my style...I'd ditch the extra Toyota decals. But it is very unique, and one of a kind. This guy put alot of effort into making a unique truck, and I can respect that. Not entirely my style, but why make fun of another guy's truck? I'd rather see a bonkers far out FJ, than just about any other bland car out there. This guy built it exactly the way he wants, not caring about what anybody thinks, and that is ok in my book.

I think they were all just teasing about how done up it is. I mean for sure this guy bought everything he could possibly want. And clearly we're all envious of being able to do that for our rigs. I think it was more on the lines that it's too clean/perfect for anyone to want to take wheeling. I mean honestly, it should be on the showroom floor of a Toyota dealership that is located on a mountain. Ha ha
And I start ha ha to my bad joke. Not to his fj. Personally, I'm from Nebraska and I'm all about red and black. And I think this thing is sick as $h!t
I'm even down with the fj and Toyota emblems representing. With that said, I'm usually against the concept of telling everyone that your Honda is a Honda by having the biggest emblem ever or in this case his Toyota is a Toyota. Yeah we get it. But for real, I think this thing is over the top flashy BUT I definitely think it works. And I definitely don't believe anyone on here would turn it down. Haha
 
Oh and I don't remember what was sod about the handicapped tag but yeah, I don't agree with making fun of handicapped people.
I'd be more than willing to bet that he's a vet with that kinda money and a love for a military strong vehicle.

I understand man, I guess I'm just tired of hearing "mall rated" over and over and over (it is like the lamest 4x4 joke, but maybe that is just me). I get that "Trail rated" is a marketing gimmick because, shouldn't every jeep be off road worthy? But it works and people will shell out extra cash because, hey, "trail rated".

I really like this FJ (and FJs in general), I wouldn't mind owning this one (except like I said I'd remove those extra toyota logos, but the set up is pretty sweet and unique).

I guess another point is that car culture is pretty diverse. Some people like to build something really capable and really test it off road, while others just like building a unique machine that will never go off road; for them making a unique machine the way they like is the end in itself. I'm ok with both, because if people don't buy 4x4s then there is no incentive to make aftermarket accessories. And if people don't buy the accessories, there might sill be a market for those parts but the price to buy them would be insanely high.

It is one thing to say, "not my style", but it is another thing to bash on someone because it isn't your style. I'm all about appreciating the machine for what it is, whether it is stock or severely modified. We're all going to use our machines and get attached to them since we'll be having fun and making some some awesome memories.

I used to have a civic and I loved that car for its simplicity, reliability, and thoughtful engineering (it was a pleasure to look into the engine bay and the transmission was fantastic). I used to have a cbr 250r and I thought it was the greatest bike because of what I did and where it took me. I have amazing memories from riding that bike. Neither are going to win the award for "greatest" and "best" but I appreciated the machines for what they were (an excellent first car and excellent first bike).

I guess I just wish people would appreciate machines for what they are, rather than bashing on people because of the set up or how it is or isn't used.

dude, i love the fjs. i used to really dislike them. but also, that was before i got into 4runners. i would LOVE to own an fj!! and i would totally rock this one. i wouldn't take any emblems off and i'd use the leds to blind every ******* who talked trash about it being too flashy. lolol

Nice build, personally I'd loose the stickers and white letters on the tires. Some people like that, and that's cool! My FJ rocks for me, and me only.
