I think people should look into the Smittybilt RTT. I own one and i love it. It has all the same features as the other tents already at a fraction of the cost. And if you could add a group buy discount to that I think it would be amazing. new its around 800. 900 for the larger tent with the extra overhang on it. can add a annex room to it if you want. check it out.

Currently looking at the iKamper Skycamp kickstarter unit but it's still on the pricey side at $2250 for my purposes. You can get 15% off using the Tacomaworld coupon code for CVT so I'm considering the Mt. Shasta Standard Pioneer (don't need the annex since I already have the ARB awning with awning room).

I thought about Smittybilt but I believe the fabric is 600D poly vs. the poly-cotton canvas of the established RTT brands. Poly-cotton canvas offers better cold and heat protection which is better for my needs in the desert areas like Joshua Tree.

Anyone interested in starting one for a hard shell RTT? I've decided that's the route I'm going to go and a discount on a reputable brand (James Baroud, AutoHome, etc) would be incredible.
