I will be monitoring this thread and hope to confirm if I can make it over the next month..
Question: I camp a lot, but am new to all things overlanding/off-roading--especially with my stock xreas/ras 4th gen. Would I be able to follow along to the trailheads each day, and hop in a car with more capability and provide dry jokes and spotting instead of running my stocker, 10 hours away from home?
So ideally, sleep in truck (I'm likely coming solo.. spouse isn't into this type of stuff), provide secure storage for unnecessary loads at the trailhead, hop into someone's car, and eventually wind back up at the truck?--is that possible?--or will there be a route where we leave camp in the morning, start trailrunning and not return to where we begin?
One last question.. please feel free to shoot it down asap if it is stupid proposition. Would it be possible to bring along my street motorcycle on a hitch-carrier and park it at camps (if I'm not running any trails) so that I can do an mc trip after the overlanding bit in VA?

Yes, with optional Hitch receiver hookup with Rigid Industries LED Lighting installed under the seat rim.

Friday we are essentially doing a loop where the only technical sections will be within the first couple hours, after that it is easy dirt and gravel roads. Friday morning you can leave your truck at camp, where I will be leaving my trailer. I'm sure there will be room in someone's vehicle, even mine.
Saturday is is linear trip north (75mi) on maintained dirt,gravel, and paved roads. Saturday will be easy, 100% stocker friendly even with hitch carrier. Sunday you should be able to find good blacktop fairly close to camp for the bike.

Thanks man. That's ~15 bucks a head with only ten attendees (I can math).
If it becomes an issue I'll pay for it myself... but that means I get to sleep in it if it's raining.

So I can definitely join you guys Friday to run around GWNF I haven't perused through all of the posts in this thread, Where are you spending the 2nd day? In WV? I may even come back out Saturday morning to meet you guys and explore the other region or was it on Sunday? I remember one of the days to kayaking and whatnot. Living in Charlotesville is convenient enough for me to run home once we are done and not camp.

Friday morning then, are we setting up camp and then leaving for the trails- or setting up camp after the trail runs- and any idea of a time for both...

Friday AM (9:30ish) we will quickly drop some gear (my trailer) to claim our campsite. Definitely not a full setup. Then we will proceed to the trailhead, backtracking about 20min. We should be back to camp around 5 or 6pm.

I'm coming solo so can offer up a seat as well. As a fellow motorcyclist I can point you towards some good roads in the area as well.

Is there room for me? I used to own a V8 Runner..had to sell. I currently have a 2006 DC, 3 inch OME lift. Topper...

Plenty of room, I'll add you to the confirmed list.
Depending on how many people actually show we might need to break up into a couple groups to limit the centipede effect.
Any volunteers for group leaders? You will need to have a navigation system that can accept GPX files, and a CB.
