The parkingdeck is downtown Harrisonburg, if you google search clementine is is a block or 2 behind it to the west

Forgive the shitty picture [MENTION=137555]Sleeter[/MENTION], I presume you are camping is going to be done at Switzer Lake. From there you will go up to Flagpole via Dunkel hollow road? Or are you guys camping at unions springs lake?
I know I haven't taken the trail up dunklehollow before but the consensus I have received is that going up Union Springs Road is the better way to go up to get to flagpole, there is more fun to be had going up union springs.

Heh... I once changed a brake master cylinder and bled the brake lines on my FJ60 in that Shell parking lot.
No comment on whether or not the giant brake fluid slick in the parking lot was there before I arrived.

OK gotcha. I ask because I once clipped a couple of Jerry cans off my roof rack (FJ60) on the way in. Was completely my fault, but still pretty tight without them. Haven't been there in about 15 years but doubt it's changed.
If we end up meeting at the Shell and have too many trucks, there's a grocery store right next to it with a bigger lot we can slide over to.
There's no doubt that [MENTION=137555]Sleeter[/MENTION] has a plan. That man's been working the details behind the scenes for awhile now!

DM me your email and I'll send you the GPX route. We will go up union springs. For reference we will secure a campsite close switzer lake then backtrack to union springs trailhead. DM me your email and you, Carlos, and myself can work on the details.

Greg it correct, union springs is the better route up Flagpole. I've done both, and while dunkle hollow is nice it doesn't compare.
Greg, hope you can camp out Friday night! It will be good to see you again!

Yes dunkle hollow is pretty boring, that's why we're going up union springs.

it's looking like it will be mid day or late afternoon before i can catch up with you all. As we get closer to the date, can i get coordinates to the camp location? if I'm early enough i'll try to catch up on the trail...if not then just get my crap set up at camp and read a book (or have some bourbon...or both).
I did get a simple hand held CB; maybe i'll pick up on some chatter with it.

Not a problem, Friday morning one group will proceed directly up union springs and another group will head to Switzer lake to establish a camp location. The group that establishes camp with then backtrack about 20min and head up Union Springs. The GPS coordinates will be posted by noon on Friday. If that is too late for you due to limited cell service the easiest way to find camp will be to proceed up Dunkel hollow road and look for my trailer.
