Spring "overland" trip George Washington National Forest

A few months ago, I pieced together a route from some internet sources. I haven't ran any of this yet but it includes Canaan Loop, an old bridge, Spruce Knob, etc. I routed it mostly to photographic locations.

Really looking forward to GWNF. Need out of the city. I cant say it enough. Hoping we will have great weather for April. We supposed to have a blizzard here tomorrow in the rotten apple. Hopefully its all hype. Come on Spring!!

Somebody gotta teach me about all these waypoint wgm wva bs mfr gtfo... whatever files you guys use for these maps.

I would like to learn about it. I have a motionX app on my phone that I use currently- my knowledge starts and ends there, lol.

From what I gather, I can load files to work with my Garmin? Maybe we can have a class over the campfire- assuming I'm not all Scotched-up, lol.

Here is a video showing how to load GPX files into MotionX. This guy is about as exciting as algebra, kinda reminds me of [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION].

Gpx files and others allow users to share navigational info via tracks, routes, and waypoints. The files can be loaded into apps like Gaia, HemaExplorer, MotionX, google earth, and many others. Additionally the files can also be uploaded to some handheld gps units.
