Spring "overland" trip George Washington National Forest

Stock running boards will likely get damaged Friday. If this is a big deal for you I would suggest removing them to avoid damage.

This is just me, When I went the 1st time stock limited running boards and all, I was fairly conservative in the lines I took and managed to not damage them! THey are now off after climbing 2 rocks on the big levels trail.

I think I will take a slightly different route then you guys to ensure my stock rig doesn't take a beating. I'll join for the real route next time.

Glad to hear you got your notice - those should get to you in time for the trip! I ordered bare sliders, so my timeline was 6 weeks. I worked with Mark, who knew we had a trip coming up, and he kept me posted throughout the process.

I've seen some posts about SW lately, but I've had nothing but a good experience with them on my 5th gen and now my 4th gen.

I'd say that would be near the same as factory clearance without steps. They should be pretty easy to take off and from what I've heard they can actually become more of a damage multiplier if the get caught.

Personally, I'd take the 10-15 mins to get them off, but at the same time, people will do everything they can to help spot you through tough stuff if you need or want help. I consider myself newb and it amazes me what these trucks will do when you take your time and have good spotters.

After I put the sticker on, I saw the truck lift itself by another inch, added 11hp, and has better mpg. Best $12 bux I've ever spent.

The different colored tracks indicate separate sections/legs that he recorded while scouting.

+1 to that. Hope they like Guiness. That's all I'm bringing!
Does the local Walmart carry Guiness?--that's probably the most important question that I ask.

I too am a stocker, but will be parking it at basecamps as much as possible.. don't want to be stranded 9 hours from home at this stage in my non-existent off-road prowess.
