I have searched and read a ton but seem to be more confused. I currently have Icon 2.5 CO's with 650# springs. I have a Pelfreybilt full hoop steel bumper on order and will be installing a 80# winch along with it, so roughly 200#'s total. The front sits a little lower than the rear currently and I would like to level it out.(I installed 3/4" lift Dobinson rear springs a few months after the CO's). There is still quite a bit of adjustment (roughly 1" of threads showing so I have another 1" of adjusting before maxing out) that can be made on the CO's but the more preload the rougher the ride gets.
My question is, will I need to upgrade to 700# springs from Icon or is there a better option (as far as springs go) that will not require as much preload as the Icon's? Seems like from what I have read the Icon 650's and 700's are the same length. My thought is that the 700# springs will help with nose dive on braking but will not do a lot for me on lifting the front end without adjusting the CO's to max. If there is a longer 700# spring that will go on the Icon or an option I am not looking at or if the 1" of adjustment remaining will be enough....any feedback on ride quality with CO's maxed out....I would love to hear any feedback.
It's an '03 with the "square" fenders with the V8 and the current center of hub to fender measurement is roughly 21 1/4".
I did not get the body lift adjustment done to the bumper so a body lift is not an option.
Just trying to get everything ready so when I install the bumper and winch I can do whatever to the CO's at the same time.
