Also, remember, you don't have to mount anything if you don't want to! You can pre set it where you want, then remove the cord, like an aux cable and keep in your glovebox in case you ever want to change it down the road. Many do this, that don't want to mount the switch. It remembers the setting for life.

There is NO GOING BACK! It's great because you can manually adjust throttle response at any time. When I am by myself, a slower response time is fine, but when I am carrying 5 others with the A/C on driving the freeway, I bump it to max and get that instant acceleration. When your on the trail and you want that lag to help with articulation, just turn it off.

My old Lexus had the Eco/normal/sport modes built in, and this helps bring that feature to the 4Runner. NO REGRETS!

Just installed mine and tested it.....makes a HUGE difference in throttle response. I used the blank switch cover to the right of the steering wheel. Drilled a hole just big enough to run the wire through and super glued the back of the sprint booster module to the blank cover. Clean and easy. Took a picture (awful lighting tonight). Will get more during the day if anyone is interested.

I did a install on my 18 Off Road a couple weeks ago, Jason made a post for me on how simple and clean it was. I’ve settled on Green9 as my preferred setting, unless one of my friends is trying it out then it’s Red9
I was so impressed that I bought one for my 09 Carrera S
Installed it yesterday, all I can say is WOW in the Red9 mode throttle is way more sensitive, BMW Guys report .5 to .75 reduction on 0-60 times that’s impressive

I would’ve agreed with you as this is the first vehicle I’ve ever modded with drive by wire, but the Sprint booster allows you to tailor the feel in a way you never could with a cable. I’ve only had it installed for a few days, but I’m super impressed with it so far. It’s funny because it solved a problem I didn’t even know I had until reading about the SB, but I would never give it up now!

I'm really glad and am happy you guys like the upgrade and that's super cool with the difference on the Porsche! It's still funny to me how manufacturers let these leave the factory like this.

Great. I think most just leave on 9, but you have the flexibility to do whatever you want.

This is for those that may choose to mount the controller. Again, you don't have to plug it in if you don't want to. You can set it and forget it, and leave it in the glove box if you ever want to adjust later, but once you set it, you don't really need to change.

As you can see from picture I used a blank plate and drilled a hole for Cable to fit, very clean
Not sure why 10 min Waite on 4Runner with door open, but I followed instructions
System works great and noticeable throttle response improvement
Stated with green 5 tried 9 then switched to red 9
That’s pretty much where it will stay
One install tip, I used a skinny dowl to feed controller wire
I’ll give the system a 5stars
Does what it says it will do

Thanks you for the feedback and glad to help out. I've heard (from a guy that owns a 4th gen and a 5th gen) that the 5th gens have more delay than the 4th gens! Kinda interesting.

So I ordered a sprint booster from JasonB or burtman industries, and I have to say....

I was pretty skeptical, thinking its snake oil, hogwash, etc....but I have to admit I love this F@#$@# thing. Basically, the one thing I hated about the 4runner was the artificial throttle lag, and the sprint booster got rid of it, and on top of that, lets you set the sensitivity of the throttle response to your own liking. This is probably my favorite mod as of now because it got rid of something i HATED and then IMPROVED it.

Pros:
1. no more throttle lag.
2. no more trying to time your passing in bumper to bumper traffic
3. allows you to dial in your throttle sensitivity to match your stump leg
4. easy to install, and stupidly easy to adjust.
5. puts the smile back in my commute.
6. pedal lockout which acts like a immobilizer when you need to park your car for extended periods of time.
7. set it and forget it once you figure out what works for you.

Cons:
1. not sure if its worth that kind of coin if the current throttle response doesn't bother you.
2. 18 settings mean you kinda have to figure out what works for you.
3. you are basically paying somebody to fix a problem that toyota knowingly created.
4. maybe worse gas mileage, I don't know about that..I think it helps my gas mileage because I'm not mashing the gas pedal anymore to pass (now I try n feather the throttle like a normal human).


Lastly, Jason was a pleasure to deal with, even going as far to actually calling me to tell me my order was going to be slightly delayed. Yup, dood actually called me before a problem can arise, and yeah. he actually calls (not email, not text, and most importantly not disappearing with your money for weeks on end).

Also, Jason was the cheapest after tax and shipping (even beating amazon).
