Is the Sprint Booster any better than the Pedal Commander? I had and returned the Pedal Commander because overall, I wasn’t that impressed. I have a ‘21 TRD Pro and I noticed that the gas pedal feels fine stock. I don’t have much of a delay at all stock. When I had my ‘19 TRD ORP, I definitely noticed how sluggish it was. When I had the PC installed, it felt a little different but I really wasn’t that impressed.

What level are most of you running on the Sprint Booster? Just installed. Not so impressed. Anything above SPORT 3 seems to just knock the transmission down two gears, winding out the revs. Very herky jerky. Trying to deside whether to keep just for the lock out feature or to just return the unit to Jason. I'll give it a few more days to see if the computer learns anything. Thanks. Bob

I've had both and the booster works better if you ask me. I'm also getting slightly better mileage on longer trips! I think I'm on green 7. Takes a few weeks to get used it like when getting a new truck. The delay was very bad before install and when I turn it off to compare I can't go back. The pedal lock-out feature I love because my son has tried to take the truck out 3 times without my knowledge but the neighbors told me. Since I've put lock-out on, he hasn't taken it lol because he can't use the pedal

Ok, I think I’m going to pull the trigger and get the Sprint Booster. I guess my concern is that I’ve heard it leaves a code on the ECU when being used, does anyone know if that’s true?

Alright, I bit the bullet and ordered the Sprint Booster from Jason. I’m hoping that I have an overall better experience with the SB vs. the Pedal Commander.

Installed the Sprint Booster on my 2020 ORP about two weeks ago. Tried a few different settings and landed on one that seems best for my driving style.
Have driven it in the mountains, local traffic and highway. This is the real deal! I was a little skeptical, but it has really changed the dynamics of driving the vehicle.
Although it has the same level of power, the acceleration is better/more responsive. It also improves the shifting of the transmission, as well.
And, although I do not fully understand how, it took the front vibration/shimmy away that was occurring at about 50 mph.
FWIW, I am running stock sized KO2s on this truck, as well.

Ordered mine today for new 2021 TRD Pro. Had a PC on my 2015 4Runner and liked it then tried another PC on GMC Yukon and it continuously faulted the computer so done with them. The TRD Pro is very sluggish stock so cannot wait to receive, install and run it through it’s paces.

I've ha do mine installed on my 21 pro and it makes the transmission down shift a lot and at time doesn't seem to shift and just makes the 4Runner not feel right I took it off and trying to return it or sell it

I got the SB from a different vendor. I know, I know! I started at Race Red 9 and it was bad (too much throttle and the transmission was mismatched, like it didn't know what to do). Revved and downshifted a lot. Red 1 was better. I switched to Sport Green 9 and it feels much better. More responsive, without revving too much, and the transmission is normal again. Gas mileage has stayed the same, but I only have less than 200 miles on it. Before getting rid of the SB, I recommend playing with the settings and find one that you like. Maybe 18 options is too much.
Just purchased the Sprint Booster from Jason B and almost immediately received a text with an update on when to expect it to ship which happens to be tomorrow!

Did some reading on tacoma world forum and the tunes are very favorable from members. The Orange virus and the KDMax tune both use the VF tuner device. OV is that the one listed on the VF Tuner site for $150 but you still need the devcie and software. The KDmax is the same just a custom tune map from someone who created it and is selling it to "tuners".
There are a few tuners for the kdmax pending your area and it is probably just a person from a forum. They most likely bought the VF pro tuner ($1250) device which allows for multiple VIN uses. Website states can purchase credits for the purpose of registering / flashing other vehicles / providing tuning / calibration services. The single one time use would be about $700-800 range, software , device and custom tune map.
I reached out to a local kdmax tuner to speak with them about a 4runner tune, on the kdmax site it says in beta. Remapping throttle responses and some extra HP /TQ. Its just tuned for better drivability and you may have increase in MPG. QUoted $400 for a kdmax tune , taco forums say $300 and a member here paid $350.

Just installed the Sprint Booster from JasonB yesterday. Well, not much to say that hasn't been said already. Fast shipping, easy install and it works as advertised. I'm still trying out the different settings but have found Race2 to be good for now.
