Only carrier with uncapped data and speed, the latter probably doesn't matter since it's still a 3G device.

I did NOT have a good experience with Android phones when i had my Epic 4G (original one with slide out keyboard) for 3 months. It crashed frequently...thus, the need for "pull out" battery. App store was not as stable as Itunes...sometimes the app would get stuck downloading. (As you may know, the lack of apps on the Android market is a major problem...lack of choices on a any one topic is the main problem.)

In addition to all this, Samsung is notorious for piss-poor customer/device support. Basically, they build a very nice product...and then move on to their next product without supporting the older models. Out of the Android phones that you mentioned, i would go with HTC simply for their intuitive touch software and their excellent support. Motorola touch interface has not been good historically...not sure about their new phones.

After experiencing Android for 3 months, i am not going back there. (Maybe this is why Android return business % has been so poor...or so i have read.) Even though the Galaxy SII looks great along with the upcoming Nexus Prime and thus making the Iphone 5 look "ordinary", i want something stable in a smartphone...no surprises and adequate support.

You summed up exactly why I am happy with my flawless iPhone. Not a glitch or hiccup yet. Plus the battery life for a smart phone is exceptional compared to the android platform.

Some of the Android phone owners brag about the pull-out battery because they can technically keep their phone for a long time. Battery on ebay is dirt cheap. But, in response, i ask...WHY would you want to keep your smartphone beyond 2 years? These smartphones go out of date so quickly these days. Just 6 months ago, my Epic 4G was top dog...look at it now...yesterday's news...and so behind the newer phones in technology. The original Iphone is now all but useless...and that was only 3-4 years ago.

So, even if i want to keep my phone for a long time, the software and technology advances won't let me. The apps are all designed for the latest technology...so, apps on an old phone looks like crap if it even works at all!

Of course, we all know why Android phones have the pull out battery...it ain't for longevity, it is to reboot the darn thing when it crashes!

I've had my HTC Hero for almost two years (never crashed) and I had really good luck with it but I am also excited about the iPhone comin gto Sprint and should have one by the end of October. The only downside I've heard is the music player will only play iTunes store bought songs and you can't import your collection to the phone and making song ringtones isn't as easy as on the Android phones. Is this true?

Wow, that would suck! Right now, my Ipod Touch has both Itunes songs and songs from CDs. None of the "rumors" that i have read had anything to do with what you wrote RonM. I sure hope that it is not true...that could be a deal killer for me!

Not true. Any songs on your computer can be imported to iTunes an put on said iPhone. I have hours upon hours of NON iTunes native music that is currently on my iPhone.
 
That sucks that Sprint is doing away with Premier. T-Mobile allows its valued customers upgrades every 6 months. I'm not sure if T-Mo is for the entire family account or only the primary line as Sprint does. Sprint is clamping down, soon they'll be no different than AT&T and VZW, now that they're able to hang on to their customers.
 
I switched from an iPhone 3GS on AT&T to a Samsung DROID Charge on Verizon right before Verizon decided to tier their data plans--I continue to have unlimited data. I HATE this Samsung phone (very similar to the Galaxy S phones). It freezes all the time and is slow. The only thing that makes it worth it is 4G LTE---amazingly fast in my area. System updates are non-existent.

I will be changing to an iPhone 5/4S (whatever they decide to call it) and will probably be purchasing one at full price since I have over a year left on my contract. Just hope my unlimited data plan will transfer over without problems.

I've had Sprint in the past and didn't think much of them...service was horrible in my area although I'm sure that has changed in the past few years.
 
Well, there is rumor that Sprint may clamp down on it's unlimited plans down the road, following the footsteps of Verizon and ATT. So, i wonder if it is wise to jump to the UNLIMITED plan now so that i will be "grandfathered" in if Sprint changes their mind at a later date?? With Sprint, you can always change back and forth between plans without any fee.

So, with Verizon, did the initial unlimited plan owners get grandfathered in???

You, too? That's cool. I bought my first iPhone when the 3G came out, I've sustained my plan through to my iPhone 4 (still on AT&T) and I have also noticed that I haven't been capped. Guess I'm keeping this plan for a while. Nice little bonus haha

VZW did grandfather in customers already on unlimited. I've heard new customers getting an iPhone can ask for the unlimited plan in the store and have been successful.

You'll get grandfathered in on Sprint. I'm grandfathered in on an old expired plan on Sprint from back in 2003 or 04, but will have change my plan because I want an Android phone.

Not sure if you're getting an employer discount through Sprint. I get 23% and for what I need, the above plan and their consumer plan is a wash, both at $170/month. I'm losing 100 minutes with the consumer plan, but have the flexibility to get my phone from any vendor/dealer as I choose (Amazon has the Evo 3D for $100), where as the plan above is consider a Sprint employee plan and phones must be ordered through the employee department.

What I'm more excited about is Sprint's Network Vision plan. The goal is to utilize 800mhz (when iDEN is retired), 1900 and 2500 mhz frequencies for both voice and data and the phone will switch between frequencies as needed. Hopefully, they'll roll out EV-DO Rev B soon too, it should rival the speeds of AT&T and T-Mo's currently claimed "4G" (not the LTE networks) and it'll also bring simultaneous voice and data.

The problem for me is that, IF the iphone comes out on Sprint, then it would be my work phone. This equals to lots and lots of minutes. On my current plan (free incoming minutes), i am around 1000 minutes monthly, NOT including the nights and weekend minutes!! My work calls me a lot! :( Even with the special code above, i would still end up paying $99/month for their all unlimited plan since i need the unlimited TALK minutes.

I am just debating right now about getting the iphone or sticking with my flip phone (sanyo) which gets amazing reception. I did upgrade my 2nd line (wife's) in the meantime to the $99 unlimited plan in preparation for the iPhone...just in case Sprint pulls a fast one, i will be grandfathered in on my wife's line. (And if i do stick with the Iphone, then i just jump over to her number and she jumps over to my free-incoming minute plan.)

As for your last paragraph, you might as well speak in a foreign language!! :D But, i assume that what you wrote is good!
