thanks man! I'm really glad I decided to get off my lazy butt and do the wheels..I love how they turned out :riddance:

and funny you mention that, I spent a good amount of time yesterday washing my car. Unfortunately, my gf had her white coat ceremony (well fortunately for this part) and I ended up driving to a different city...which just happened to be a full house and thus I parked in a muddy field...ruining all my hardwork...had to go home and hose her down to get it as clean as I could....ANYWAY...yes, I definitely need to do some glamour shots (before monday for sure since that is when I start school again)

Gotta agree with the others.... painting those wheels was an excellent choice. Looks fantastic, especially with those tires.

Did you use Duplicolor?

i appreciate it man! And I actually used plastidip (3 coats). I'm not too great at using spray paint and plastidip is idiot proof so I chose to go that route (also it will be great if I need to touch up in the near future --- which I'll most likely have to since discount tires is pretty rough with your wheels and I need to get tire rotations pretty often to keep my four duratrac free tire coupons valid.

i'll post some pictures soon of the finish (close up).

It may be hard but think of all the mods you can buy when your done school! At least thats what I tell myself now that I'm in the last semester of my 6 year educational journey.... Looks awesome with the wheels painted!!

Painted Rear Emblems

Went home to Houston for the weekend and was planning on installing some spacers in the rear to steady the truck out but got too lazy. Instead, decided to paint my rear emblems. I had some Krylon Satin Black paint so I decided to use that. I was originally going to plastidip but decided against it.

Anyway, here are some pictures

yeah, it has been a transformation for the better (i hope). and yeah, I always wanted to get flares but they're like $350ish and I just don't have that kind of money right now

I reattached the emblems using emblem re-adhesive from autozone. It was in a red tube and was $5.99. I'd tell you the actual name but I'm currently in Galveston and the tube is in Houston.

as for re-attaching the emblems, i just heated up the old glue and stuck them back on. That stuff that you mentioned was bad news for me. Maybe I got a bad batch or I'm ****reted, but that stuff made a mess, and it also turns brown after a while if you accidentally get too much on there.

yeah I think the key was to not apply the adhesive directly to the surface of the emblem but, instead, squirt some out on some cardboard and then use a flat piece of plastic to apply a thin layer to the emblem. But we'll see, maybe mine will look weird and crumby after a week or two. Hopefully not, here are some promised day time shots (4runner still dirty so excuse the spots please)
