Squeak/chirp sound following OME install

I installed the OME 3 inch lift kit, medium springs in the rear light in the front. After a month or so, I'm noticing a squeak/chirp from wheel well areas over mild rough surfaces and of course when off road. This is the first time I've lifted a vehicle, or even owned an off road vehicle for that matter.

2017 TRD ORP w/ 4,500 miles
OME 3 inch spring/coils/diff drop
Stock UCA/LCA

Any thoughts on what could be causing this? I don't hear it when daily driving but it's seeming more noticeable as each day passes.

I just pulled the trigger on this set up. I will be installing soon. Hopefully everything goes well. How does it drive with the stock uca?

I’m very happy with the setup. Have driven in it for 2K miles and gone on 2 small trips. The only issue is the squeaking noise under rough driving. Perhaps I just need to lube the suspension points.

I do not have any regrets with the set up so far.

I added some OME 2883 w/ 5100's and ever since I am having a consistent squeak from the front. I ended up replacing the UCA with Rough Country to no avail. I have tried greasing everything, replaced the sway bar mounts with polys and nothing has helped. I haven't looked at body mounts or sway bar end links. I am so exhausted with trying to figure this out.

Check the nuts on your coilover's top hats. Had the same issue with my Bilstein 6112's and after install the nut that connects the top hat to the shock hat backed off on both sides. Just had to re-tighten the passenger side on Friday.

If it's just a noise, I can live with it. If it gets louder it will eventually bother me though. For now, I'll keep an eye on it. If happy with the ride and performance so far.

no, the one in the middle was my issue, but you should probably check those as well.

I had this exact issue and it took me forever to track down... It was actually my rear shock stone guards that were loose and were making the noise. They seemed tight at first by hand but once I snugged them down really tight my squeak/chirp went away.

Hmmm, rear shock stone guards. Don’t recall getting these but I’ll have a look back there.

I thought I'd give a little update: After some off roading today I had a buddy listen as I was driving to help locate the chirping. Eventually, we discovered it was the hood latch when closed. A little grease and the noise is gone.

I feel like an idiot.

Not sure if you saw my update, but have you checked the hood latch? Not sure if that's your issue, but here's hoping it is!!

Don't. My dealer was unable to figure out that same issue on mine.

I realize this is an old thread but I’m having the same issue and it’s annoying as hell. It sound like birds chirping under the front when I go over bumps. lol

So it was the hood latch. Soooo glad that’s fixed now.

I found it by beating on the hood in several places. I can’t believe that’s what was causing the noise.

So grateful for this thread and the other that’s circulating right now that discusses the squeak from the splash guards in the front fenders.

My 2014 Trail Prem is suffering from both right now, and had I left it up to my independent Land Cruiser mechanic and/or the dealer it would have taken me countless wasted trips and lord knows how much money.

Just like was mentioned above, lightly vibrating (banging) the hood produces the same noise I’ve been haunted by since I got it over year ago.

These two noises should be made a dang sticky!
