Squeaks and driving me crazy!

Search disclaimer before I get ripped, I only found people talking about rattles from the shocks clips and dash! If I missed something else feel free to burn me at the stake.

I'm wondering if anyone here has had a similar issue and can point me in the direction of a fix.

I have a 2015 trail with a Toytec boss lift with super flex rears and SPC UCA's. It was all working great with the typical rake and it seems after I have leveled it out I'm getting squeaks from all four corners or at least the drivers side front and back that I can hear while driving with the window down . It only seems to happen on medium to sharp bumps and speed bumps. When I had a buddy shake the hell out of the truck with me listening for it to see where it's coming from it seemed to be coming from the top of the front shock where it meets the shock tower on the body. I have tried to tighten the top bolts a bit more and no luck. I'm not sure if that's the only spot up front squeaking and I have no idea where the back is coming from. I have not had another alignment since leveling but not sure if that would make a difference. I know aftermarket suspension is going to come with some differences from OEM and they say squeaks may happen but it's driving me crazy.

I feel like I'm making all 4runners look like crap when people watch me drive by in a 2015 truck squeaking like crazy! Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for any help.

I'm pretty sure the culprit is your UCA bushings. If that's where the noise is coming from you should feel a little vibration there when you move the car up/down. Shoot a little WD40 in there or back out the bolt and put in some grease.

Sorry I should have mentioned I pulled the UCA bushings out and re greased them and it seems they are not the source. I swear the front is coming from where the shock tower mount and coil over meet but have no idea why it would.

The only thing you can do to troubleshoot is to take the vehicle back to it's pre squeak configuration and start there, meaning, start taking parts off and replacing them with stock parts. Sorry.

My '14 Trail developed a squeak shortly after my lift that I swore was suspension related. It wasn't until I opened the hood to see if it would help identify the sound that I figured out what it was...the hood. Triflow on the latch mechanism killed the squeak.

I got squeaks from several suspension mods myself

To find them, I had someone stand on the sliders and grab my rack and shake the car side to side as, or bounce on the rear bumper as I listened around the vehicle. I would then spray silicon lube at any suspect culprits. Loud squeaks can come from some pretty tiny culprits as mentioned above!

ALL ball-joints and heims are suspect.

ALL latches and hinges on all doors, hatches, hoods etc are suspect.

ALL bushings are suspect.

I've located 3 main squeak producers and I give them a quick shot of silicone after washing. Though it only lasts a while. Modding suspensions and off-roading are just going to cause squeaks and rattles after a while no matter what though :/

FINALLY KILLED MY SQUEAK / CHIRP! So I swore that it was my Camburg UCA bushings and greased them 3 times with super lube and then flushed the super lube out with Red N'Tacky after speaking with Carlos at Camburg. Still squeaking and driving me nuts.

A friend of mine, not a 4runner guy, suggested some WD40 on the shock tower hats and the top & bottom of the coils.... BOOM!

No more squeak / chirp over bumps. Drove around town today with the radio off. It was like sleeping on a brand new pillow!

Are you referring to the lower bushings? Doubtful that anything needs replacing. The coilovers, top hats and UCAs have about 7K on them. Incidentally, I noticed that the top shock bolt was loose on both sides.

No, there is a spherical bearing on the top and bottom of your coilover. These are consumable parts and require replacement every so often. If you had a loose bolt, this was probably the source of the squeak, but the bearings need to be maintained as well as the bushings
