Squeaky after lift

Added a 3" lift with new sway bar links, icon UCAs. Lots of squeaking. I've sprayed the upper balls with Teflon (dry) lunch and greased the UCA pivot zerks.

Thoughts?

If you can replicate it by having someone stand on the running boards holding on to the roof rack and sway back and forth you can hunt underneath for it.

All I can add is that I sprayed the UCA pivots with the teflon and that helped my squeaking.

Used this method numerous times for hunting down "mystery noises" myself. Hasn't failed me yet.

Did you install a SwayBar Relocation Bracket to move the sway bar away from the coilovers?

If so, are you running the factory gravel shield? I would check to see if the bar is rubbing the gravel shield; I had to space mine about 1/8~1/4" with washers to clear it.

If not, I would make sure the inner arms of the sway bar are not rubbing on the coilovers (I fought with this a long while on my 4Runner until recently).

Thanks for the Intel. I am running the stock gravel guard. I did install links of the front sway bar along with the relocation kit.

Would this not make more of a metal on metal sound ? Mine has been having a rubber squeak type sound since putting on UCAs and I always thought it was the rubber UCA bushings.

I actually thought it was some sort of bushing squeak for a long time. It's a very high pitched squeak sound, almost like a bushing; at least in my case it was.

I would take the stock gravel shield off and drive the vehicle and see if the noise goes away. You might even see rub marks where it's been touching.

Are you talking about at the ball joint socket or at the bushings? Would it be wise to spray the area before finishing installation and say, every few months or is it a one and done fix?

Theoretically you can spray anything with anything.. Tri-Flo is my go to when just spraying down bushing pivots.

And as was alluded to above, metal on metal can make some pretty interesting/unlikely sounds given the right circumstances.

True. I've read too much about certain greases or whatever that can deteriorate rubber so I try to make sure I'm not getting into a situation like that.

EDIT: Looks like the squeak is not the springs and sway bar touching. They have a couple inches of clearance from each other.
