squeaky noise inside? :/

I'm getting intermittent squeaks inside the vehicle while driving and going over holes in the road. The squeak seems to be coming from the passenger side front corner - either windshield or some plastic parts around the vent or airbag. It sounds like plastic on metal or metal on metal high pitch, short squeak. It's also doesn't happen all the time - as if I had to go over bumps / uneven ground at certain angles / frequency to cause this short squeak. I had passengers try to pinpoint the source - without much luck. Anyone ever encountered this? It's driving me nuts. :dizzy:

I had a really annoying squeak develop on my drive from Colorado to California. Short annoying repeating squeak.
Turned out that some one had turned on the rear heater fan, housed under the passenger seat.
I turned it off and the squeak went away. Worth a look.

There was a thread like this years ago and I think it was Brian2sun who figured out that if he shoved something in between the dash and windshield area (cowl) it would stop the squeak. I forget what he used though.

Pull the glove box out and check the air duct. There was an issue on tacomas and Runners back in the ealry 2000's with the airduct rubbing on the passenger side.

There were a lot of issues with a center of the dash rattle on the 3rd gens back then also.

Mine does the same thing. Random horrendous squeak from the dash area.

Fixed the rear clunk sound though with electrical tape on the latch! :trophy:

- removed the glove box
- removed the passenger door panel
- tried driving with passenger window down
- stuffing rag between the dashboard and the windshield in the corner
- tried rocking the truck up and down and sideways while parked

the damn thing is still randomly squeaking while going over certain small bumps (seem to be happening more often why I'm driving on uneven road holding a steady throttle). my mind is playing tricks on me already.

Did you ever figure this out? I seem to be having the same issue in my 2016 trail.
