Squeal when accelerating

I have a 2001 SR5 with 154k on it. Sometimes when I accelerate I hear this awful (like nails on a chalk board) squeal. It does not happen all the time but only happens when my foot is on the accelerator. It sounds like it is coming from under/around the front passenger side, but sounds more electric than drive train - if that makes sense. It's hard to describe the noise, definitely more squeal than whine though.

I have greased the zerks, I have a new rear differential, new belts, new water pump, stock radio.

Any thoughts? Please help it's driving me crazy!

i have the same problem on my 2000 160k and i have a p4020 code (cats...long story with many opinions, i have not determined my route of attack).. and my muffler has a fair amount of rust and miles on it..(105k that i did, received at 55k).

Occasionally, and as of recent i have that problem too and I'm leaning towards those 2 parts as culprits, would like to hear from others with more experience too.

The drive belts are all new.

The noise happens more when the car is cold, but it also happens when it's hot. There is no logic as far as I can tell.

Power steering fluid is full/clean.

I missed that in your first post. However, do check to see if motor oil or other contaminants is on the belts. If the squeal changes with RPMs, it's for sure coming from the engine.

By the way, I just sprayed some WD-40 on my coils to get rid of my noise but mine was a bit different. If you have stock suspension don't bother since that would not be it.

I suggest getting under the car and checking all of your exhaust hangers and the heat shield near the cat and muffler. That might be the source of your noise.
 
Check your alternator bearing for minor noise. I thought I had a a p/s or tranny pump going but it was the alternator going out
 
Does it happen if you stomp on the gas in neutral? You could get a buddy to hit the pedal while you look at the belts, sometimes you can tell which one it is.
 
I have something similar. It comes and goes and has been happening for probably a few years at least. I've never seriously tried to figure out where it was coming from though since I can't always replicate it. Would love to see if you find a solution/source though.
 
Like others have already mentioned, you most likely have a slipping belt. Check the tension of all 3 drive belts. This video will help you out.
