Squealing Belt

I recently replaced my belt on my 03 V6 because of the squeal and it was certainly due. It was the end of August, Maybe September.

It ran quiet until now. Now my belt is squealing again. WTF!

I tried some belt dressing and that worked for a couple days. Today it is raining pretty heavy and now it is squealing like crazy.

Any suggestions? It is really embarrassing and pissing me off. I really do not want to take anything apart or bring it in to the shop for this.

If your car has some miles, I really recommend the Gates front end pulley kit (idlers and tensioner) from rockauto.com

It made my engine purr.

Note that it might not be your belt that's squealing. It could be one of the idler pulleys. I do those pulley kits every 100K on any car I own.

Your belt is squealing because it is too loose or you have something that it drives that is starting to seize up.

the auto tensioner is bad. replace it.

What would be a reasonable cost to have a pulley and/or the tensioner replaced at a shop?
