Ditto on this, but I had the exact same issue, but when i hit the gas and accelerated the belts, it went away,

thought it was power steering,

took it to the Dealership, who a few days before had tightened down the belts, only for it to return a mile later.

turns out the crankshaft pulley had a problem and was put on wrong the last time they did my belts, was wobbly at low speeds, causing the belt to slip, but at higher speeds or foot on the gas would straighten out,

not sure if this is your issue, but sounds just like the trouble I just had.

I had the exact same problem. Just like it described to the "T". Chirping noise coming from under the vehicle and would go away if you even slightly hit the gas pedal. We looked at the U-joints and the whole shaft before and there was no play at all and everything seemed to be fine. So, my friend and I finally put it up on a lift and drove it up to 35 and as soon as we did we located the sound and found it to be the U-joints. My front joints seal was leaking grease and slinging it all over the undercarriage. This is for sure where the noise is coming from. I'm actually having him replace them today. I'll let you know how it went when it's finished.

4 runner squeal

Mine was doing the same thing - lubed the drive shaft and it's been quiet since.

Sounds like your drive shaft needs lubing!!! Same thing happened to mine...a little chirping noise only while your "coasting", right??? Check out this link and report back with your results. Best of luck Toyota Maintenance: Lubrication Points

Any updates? I watched the video posted by [MENTION=259089]Lonestargirl[/MENTION] and that is the EXACT noise mine is making. Dealer has had it over a week, replaced all engine pulleys and it's not fixed. I'm thinking it's the front seal on transfer case since this seems to be an issue on limited models (awd).

This is making me insane.

Haha, yes, I was hoping someone else may have seen something similar.

My rig is still at the dealer. These guys have been driving it around with the windows taped up... after I told the lead tech that it's probably a transfer case seal and flange making the noise... already dropped $1500 on all new pulleys and a tensioner, which did nothing. So frustrating.

Welp. Dealer says replace transfer case. $5800. This is crazy. I swear these guys have no idea how to fix anything, just replace anything that is in vicinity. Like the time they told me I needed a new transmission ($6000) and all it needed was a new filter and fluid change ($325 at independent shop). The transfer case is working just fine, except for said squeal. I'm going to try to order a output flange and seal and do it myself... couple hundred in parts and a day of my time and probably a 12 pack of beer is probably worth the gamble... maybe? Has anyone ever done the flange and seal replacement?

2013 limited

Your post says "2013 limited" so if that's what year your 4Runner is then you are in the wrong subforum. This is the 3rd gen section (1996-2002) and you need the 5th gen section (2010-current). https://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/ We do not have the same transfer case so there's a good chance it's a different part number and procedure to do any mechanical work to your 4Runner. Good luck with your problem.
