SR5 Rotor Size Dimensions

Hey guys,

Have a quick question, I am looking for new rotors and have seen 2 primary things on this forum people state that there are 13.3" and 12.6" rotors or 338mm and 319mm....but here is where I get confused...

338mm = 13.3071"
319mm = 12.5591"

So I agree that the 338mm are 13.3" but Summit Racing sells a bunch of different rotor sizes:

(I just noticed the difference seems to be in manufacturer):

12.280 in.
12.284 in.
12.285 in.
12.550 in. - Auto Extra
12.559 in. - EBC
12.560 in. - Stoptech
13.300 in.
13.310 in.

I know mine are the smaller 12.6" rotors, but does it matter what I get in the 12.550, 12.559, or 12.560 range?

I realize I am talking about thousandths of an inch here, but am just curious if this is all negligible and it is just slight differences in manufacturers products, really wish Summit Racing had them listed in mm, not inches. Appreciate any info!

Also, are the fronts and rears the EXACT same?

Those specs just seem like internet info overload. You're talking not even 3/10 of an inch difference. If I were you I'd relax and buy some rotors and move on.

Yeah I hear ya, was just curious and I just noticed that it is based on the manufacturer.

I just got mine from Orielly, no problems, bolted right on and smooth sailing since. I like going internet for something's, but there is no replacement for a store within walking distance and a generous return policy.

Yeah, I bought these rotors and used EBC 6000 pads and they have uneven wear where the pad makes contact:

I am going to rebuild my calipers but I really dont know at this point if the issue is frozen calipers, cheap rotors, or the EBC 6000 pads. Pads wore out before 20,000 miles.

I think it depends on the type of driving maybe? But 4th gens are prone to caliper issues.

Yeah I am pretty sure I have a frozen front passenger caliper, the outside pad has twice as much wear as the inner. Got the rebuild kit and will hopefully be doing it in the next 2 weekends, once I get all the parts.

Exactly.

The difference between 12.550 and 12.560 is about the thickness of 3 human hairs.

I wonder why they would measure it so accurately. In the world of "just make in in china and have it be reasonably accurate" it's nice to know summit will tell you the exact specs.

haha, that was my thinking as well! If Summit is that accurate, damn they have got some good people and tools selling their products!!

I ended up going with OEM rotors, after my last debacle I know my factory's were better so I am gonna see how new OEM rotors and Akebono pads do. OEM was $60 a piece, pretty good price...
