SR5 running board end cap

Looking for a unicorn. Not even sure the part number.
I’m looking for the drivers side front running board end cap that ties the running board into the black textured SR5 fender flare.
Seems this part is as scarce as the splash guards that occupy the same location when there aren’t running boards.

Hopefully someone has removed their running boards and has some end caps they are willing to part with.

Unfortunately I think the reason those are hard to find individually is that the nut and bolts that hold them on to the metal part of the running board rust, and then become impossible to remove without cutting the bolt off. The bolt is just embedded in the plastic and basically just strips out from the plastic and spins when you try to remove the nut. So you might have to just get a whole new running board instead of just that piece. That's what I had to do.

Look different to me. You pointed out the first one was for a Limited. The second is for an SR5.

'97-'99 "SR5" flares are also known as the "skinny black" flares. '00-'02 use the wide 'sport' flares on the SR5's when installed (similar to the Limited width). Not easy to know, other than he said the 'textured black' flares - of which it can only be the ones I posted. The only other option is the chrome strips on 'non-flare' 16" wheel 4Runners that were installed for legal (body width) reasons.

Too late! That was a SR5 parts truck I scrapped a few weeks ago, didn't keep any of the trim as I have a limited...

You may be in luck! I just posted a listing for the running boards I pulled off of my rig, and the end caps are all accounted for and in good shape. I don't have high hopes that they'll sell locally. If they don't sell after a week or so you can just pay the shipping and I'll send you the end cap.

I didn't end up selling the running boards, so I tried to pull the end caps and tossed the steps.

Unfortunately the nuts were seized on to the studs on 3 out of 4 of those end caps. The stud is actually built into the end cap, so I was only able to save one.

Fortunately, it looks like it's the exact one that you need. Part number 00228-35969-PR. Was the passenger rear the one you needed?
