Hi there. I just bought my first 4runner about 4 weeks ago and I have seen other 4runners and the look to be sitting higher than mine. I know they have been limited and sports besides just SR5. I was just curious if the 2004 SR5 suspensions make it sit lower or if I am just imagining things? I have done a lot of reading on here and am going to be buying from Toytech this summer, but I am just curious. Thank you!

How many miles does it have? The shocks and coils are probably just worn out. You can pick up some coils and shocks off an FJ and that will give you a firmer ride and a minor 1/2" lift in the rear. The setup is cheap and depending on that year FJ, a direct swap. Or you can get an OME kit or Toytec ultimate kit.

I call that the grass is greener effect. I often thought the same thing. I actually measured one day aginst another I thought was higher and nope. Why dont you take a measurment of the front rear heights from the ground to the wheel well and post them so we can compair.. Some of the limited/ sports have that adjustable rear height control. that will give you that not so high feeling..lol

Good thinking! I read and learned alot from the guys on here who started with a spacer lift then switched to lift coils/ co's a couple months later. I originally had the DS 2.5/1.5 in mind but my shocks were starting to go so I decided to replace everything with 5100's and OME/Toytec coils. I would have gone with co's but don't plan on adding a bumper, just a winch. The OME setup from toytec was perfect for my wants and needs. good luck with your decision making!
Thanks Casper! Yeah. I am one of those with the mod disease. lol. I CANNOT leave anything stock since I was 16 and started. I am currently living in SW North Dakota, so there is not a LOT of wheeling to be done but I do live only 3 hours nother of the black hills in SD. I will be going camping and such. I am just going to leave her mostly stock for now, but save and plan. haha.
