Some of those may have been dealer options, I don't know. But I walked on the lot, picked mine out of a group of several 4Runners, and bought it as-is with 8 miles on it...

yes you also have to state what years your are referring to. In 2006, the SE has round roof racks and running boards.
In 2003-2005, you can get an SR5 with the same 17" wheels as the Limited but it is an option. 2003-2006, the SE has a set of 17" rims only available on the SE.
Leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls is standard on SE/Limiteds while an option on the SR5.
In 2003, the SR5 had telescoping steering wheel. In 2004, only the SE/Limiteds came with this amenity.
Also, I've never seen an SR5 with silver roof racks. Got a pic?

In MA, you cannot find an SR5 with side curtain airbags unless it was special ordered.
From the base descriptions on http://www.toyota.com/4runner these are not standard options, but plug in your zip code and you may find other things that are part of the standard regional deliveries.

I don't have any pics of my 4Runner, need to take some. You wouldn't recognize mine as a SR5 anyways because it's been debadged...sharp4runr said:

I've heard before and it was repeated here that the Sport has larger brakes than other models but I cannot find this in 2006 sales brochure or on website. Reference?
I have a brochure in .pdf format from 2003 stating the front rotor diameter was in fact larger with the 17" SE wheels as opposed to the 17" alloy (Limited) wheels (13.3" vs. 12.6"). Somewhere along the line the Limiteds got bumped to the 13.3" front rotors also. I'm not sure what year that happened.claydoctor said:

This proved to be beneficial in avoiding a collision, because the Blazer screetched to a halt about what seemed like 6 inches from my bumper. Amazingly, none of the cars ahead nor behind me hit each other. Not bad for going 60-0 in a couple hundred feet.

SR5 - black sideview mirror housings
Sport - color keyed mirrors, hoodscoop (no brainer)
Limited - color keyed mirrors, lights on the running boards
When I see another fellow 4th gen runner going down the street or highway I can tell at a glance which one it is. No need to look at the badging. This is assuming that the stock OEM mirrors, hood, and/or running boards are left untouched.

Pre-2006 SR5's are usually the only model to have the chrome grill. I have no idea why this is, b/c imo it looks a lot better than color keyed, and in other car brands and models out there, adding chrome usually costs more and is therefore considered more luxurious. I suppose with all the silver accents on the other models (bumper, roof rack, etc), they thought it'd be overkill. Looks great w/ on my SR5 though

no p/w, p/d, not even power steering wheel when my dad bought me for high school grad. it only came with p/b.
it gave me almost 40 mpg, and i miss it when gas price soars.
i don't see difference between Lexus G470 and Toyota 4Runner V8 as far as performance goes, pirce tag is different though.
people can finish 18 holes in either public gc or club, feeling is different.
