SR5 vs. Sport Edition

My SR5 came with the leather wrapped steering wheel and shift nob. I can't remember off the top of my head but perhapse it was part of some other interior package...

I also thought all the V8's had 5speeds

All V8's in every year got the 5 speed.

ah, thanks for the info... on their website buyatoyota.com it still shows a 4-speed but only on the V8 SE's, weird

I think for the little extra money you will pay the sport is worth it. The leather wrapped steering wheel is sooo much nicer then the standard one. I drove my friends SR5 w/o it and it really made me appreciate the leather. Plus it has the steering wheel controls for the radio. Then for the nice factor of the color matched/heated mirrors, silver roof rack, x-reas, nicer looking rims (IMO), blah blah blah.

The leather steering wheel and shifter were a package with the steering wheel stereo controls on my '04.

I went with the SR5 mainly because at the time I bought, the 05s where due in a month, and there were no 04 Sports available with a V8.

That being said, the only thing that I really wanted out of the sport was the darker interior, and the telescoping steering column. I still wish I had the column, sometimes I feel like the reach to the wheel is just a little too far. It's not enough to make me unhappy with my SR5 though!

Check out Cherokee County Toyota if you haven't already. I know it's a drive but I got my baby for $26000 drive out when the jokers at Atlanta Toyota were trying to get me to buy an identical used one for $28000 plus tax, tag and title.

I've got a bird dog card here with my guy's name on it if you want to donate $50 so I can fix my truck! :-)

I might just do that. My neighbor is actually good friends with the GM at Cherokee County Toyota so I might give them a shot. And they aren't too far from me, I live very close to the Cobb/Cherokee line. :D Thanks for the advice!

You also might want to check Sandy Springs Toyota. I shopped all of ATL metro and they beat everybody on my new '05 Sport
