Sr5SuShi's Build Thread

I noticed earlier in your build that the truck is pretty sluggish with the 315's... Do you wish you had gone 5.29's instead of 4.88's?

BTW, that's some VERY clean wiring, switches and power distribution! Looks awesome.

I might have said that wrong earlier in my thread. When i had stock gears in the truck with 315's is was very noticeably sluggy. but when i re-greared it to 4.88 it felt like when i first bought it with stock tire size! :thumb3: I have heard peoples differences with 5.29. but I'm happy with 4.88 and it tows trailers and heavy loads very well. Thank you for the complement!

Got some filters for my Blitz. I ordered the blue (Snow) filters but received the orange (Dust) filters...oh amazon. oh well now im prepared!

Where's the rear bumper?

grrrr....i called today. Great guys no doubt. they are really backed up (they say) it wont be done till maybe the end of the week. Im gettin impatient its been about little more than a month now...i suppose I'm just too dang excited.:jump:

Alright what ya guys think!?
I was planing on doing Three Lightforce 170 strikers up on the roof rack. but i found this 30inch LED bar for a cheaper price.
10800 LUMENS 30 inch OFF ROAD LED LIGHT BAR JEEP FORD ATV SUV TRUCK CAR | eBay
I would go with rigid industries but im not willing to spend almost a grand on a light bar.
whatya think? it be tricky to make it work up on the rack i would have to place them behind the two bars that come down...:wow2:

here is a good bird eye view of the rack, the LED bar would face the front of the truck.

I was thinking bigger, but i dont want the Bar to stick out past the rack on either side... i want it to stay within the rack. and 30inch with 10800 lumins will be bright enough.

Ah good point that would look dumb

Check out Trail Worthy Fab and see how their prices compare

I also just inherited a winch from my grand pops. Just got to purchase some new stickers and paint and black ruggidridge synthetic rope and she'll be running in no time!

B&M Supercooler Tranny Cooler

So after reading many threads on tranny coolers. I decided to brake down and get myself one. I decided to go with the lager one (thicker). I used the supplied zip tie wires to male it a clean installation. it did bend a few radiator fins putting them in. but very minor. its very sturdy in there, i didnt want to deal with making brackets and cutting and drilling. The zips make it very clean and factory looking.

2 Gallon ROTOPAX water tanks on custom rack

I bought some 2 Gallon Camping water tanks from Rotopax. They fit just right in the custom rack, nice and snug. It was a little rough trying to get the brackets to like up with the diamonds in the rack and the holes in the water tanks. but after a little fanaggiling i got it all lined up. Im going to pick up some extensions for the brackets and put some fuel tanks on top of the water tanks, so im ready for anything!

Over all impression is that rotopax makes some very good products! clean lines and the filler cap is very solid.

2005 Tundra Brake Upgrade

I spent days reading over this thread that Bigfishallday so generously made for all of us.
http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-g...ements-231mm-13wl-tundra-calipers-rotors.html

I got every little spec of info i needed off of his thread. I decided to go the cheaper route of the brake upgrade, do to my spending habits on other fun items. Went to AUTOZONE and bought duralast products. Which ended up looking very well crafted. I searched around and got many different prices that were getting up near the 500 dollar range. I wanted to stick close to the 300-350 range.

Total Cost:
Calipers - 80.00 each
Rotors - 62.00 each
Pads - 35.00
brake fluid - 7.00

The one major thing i wanted to be certain of getting was decent pads that had full contact nun of that tapered stuff...

My dust shields were ROTTED out so much that i just ended up cutting them off and didnt replace them. I did not want to remove the knuckle for a dust and rock shield....maybe a little lazy.;):

all done! SUCH a huge improvement now these giant rolling rubbers have a bigger stopping power! Very happy with the mod.

Holy sHHHHit. The upgrade should be like night and day for you, considering what you were working with on the stock setup. Yikes!

Thanks for the shout out on the write-up. I'm always watching your thread and the truck is coming along very nicely. Fine work, sir.

FYI. The dust and rock shield is not a dust and rock shield. It is a splash shield. They prevent the disk from geting wet when driving on wet roads.

Just remember to give yourself some extra breaking distance when driving on wet roads.
