SRT to SR5

Hello everyone. I'm new to the 4Runner world. Toyota world, even.

Picked up a base model 2018 SR5 in white just the other day. Only option is the Entune Premium (I wanted the integrated nav.)

I'm coming off an '07 Jeep SRT8. Had her since new. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but ultimately after 11 years and 133k miles I decided to let her go.

This forum was a valuable resource, both when comparing vehicles and, after deciding on a 4Runner, selecting a configuration. I want to thank everyone here for that, members past and present; your insights made it possible for a car guy (and other car guys like me) to make informed choices about a machine we see differently than other folks who might think of a car as no more than a means of schlepping themselves from point A to point B.

When it comes to maintenance I like to do my own work. I'm not a mechanic by trade, so be prepared for stupid questions.

Anyway this is getting long, so I'll end by saying I hope to stick around for a while and contribute something useful from time to time.

Figured no-one wanted to see yet another bone stock SR5. I see now that I was wrong Will update the thread with pics when I get them.

I'm handling it alright. Feels good to be getting better MPG's. The Hemi was thirsty!

I had an 07 SRT JGC that was cammed and ported out with a 100 shot. Loved it but always hated the lack of ground clearance. Put a blower on your T4R and you won’t even miss it.

I had a 2009 Jeep srt8, long tube headers and Borla exhaust, I bought it used with low miles. Was awsome, but 12 months later I use to dread the sound. My daily driver can’t be that loud.. they are great though. I do like my 4Runner. Put some bigger wheels and a small lift and you will not look back. Welcome

Congrats! I too am looking into entering the Toyota 4Runner arena for the first time.

WK1 was my first choice when jumping from sports car to "SUV". Ultimately, we felt that the WK1 was more car than SUV, and the 4runner checked off more boxes. But I still grin at the sight of a clean WK1 driving down the road.
