Srtut mount replacement?

Will be intalling new lift today, should I replace my strut mounts? I have about 105k miles on my runner. Just wondering if I should even bother changing this. Any insight from fellow runners would be appreciated.

The only suggestion or guidance I can offer is inspect the ones you have and make a decision based on that. Miles is not the only factor, things like weather and age can affect also.

I had to replace mine due to rust issues, and literally could not budge the nut at the top holding the mount to the shock. I ended up taking the struts w/ shocks attached to a local shop that cut it off and put me some new mounts on w/ the shock/spring.

What exactly are you talking about possibly replacing?

The strut mounts are the lower control arm at the bottom, and the chassis at the top.

I have read somewhere that if the rubber is cracked or rust is visible you should change.

Okay, I'm with you. Those are more commonly referred to as Top Plates.

Rust is no big deal, that can be cleaned up easily. The rubber ring condition and the studs are the only things to worry about, and these generally don't need replacing.
