So i have been on here over a year now, and i figured its a bout time to start a build thread. I hope this is the right place to post.

I have to give a shout out to so many of you that i have spent countless hours reading your build threads and researching and having my questions answered by searching all of the very useful information that has been posted on this forum by so many dedicated 4runner fans. THANK YOU !

I bought my 4runner sometime back at near the beginning of 2011. It was supposed to be a stock basic vehicle that i left alone. But... as nearly all of us are...we are tinkerers... and it didnt help when i started researching all you can do with these amazing machines.

I am soooo glad i went with a 4runner and not a Grand Cherokee....

I have decided to make my 4runner a mild 4x4, later on when i get a daily driver i will make it a little more agressive.

Here it sits stock behind a facility i used to manage, ull notice i had already taken it 4wheeling b4 its first pic.

i some how lost one of my center caps, so i need to get a replacement then paint them all to match, maybe red toyota symbol.... ???

I like it much better when you had the plate bumper, painted wheels, hood, flares and body cladding and lift.

well... when i posted these pics they posted wied and out of order. the painted body cladding and wheels and plate bumper is how it sits now.

Took apart the most powerful 12v air compressor I could find at the time and oiled, rebuilt, and gained access to the wiring.

Built a box for sub, amp, capacitor and drawer for tools and jack.

Would like to add power inverter later on just not sure where.

Tell me more about that compressor. How much was it? How good is it? I'm thinking about installing a tank next to my sub for some added extra air for the sand dunes.

This is when I wrecked the 4runner.... Had to rebuild the front end...
Ordered a new 99hood w scoop, radiator, grill, and condenser. When the idiots packed it they pulled the plastic strips tight and punctured the condenser in 3 spots as u can see, then I had to argue w them in the phone and get a new one sent.

At this point I decided to build a rock bumper rather than pay for a new bumper I don't like.... Figured I could build it for nearly the same price as a a new factory bumper.

2.45 cfm
120 PSI air compressor
16-foot coiled hose
Storage bag

At the time I spent about $60 for it not bad bang for buck but I know u can find more powerful ones out there but the price goes up pretty quickly.
Be sure to look for the cfm. A lot of ppl get fooled by seeing a 300psi rTing but it will take u all day to get to 300psi because the cfm is .5

The adapter and hose it comes w is a funny size(not standArd) but u can switch it out and use ur own.

The start of my bumper... However: I still haven't finished it !lol. Like my 4runner and life, my bumper is never finished...

Please note the mounting brackets in the picture were not strong enough, the bumper wiggled a bit, I added more bracing and additional mounting points. Will follow a pics when I get there.

Painted the trim and rock bumper.

Replaced the valve cover gaskets.

The board is there to prevent me from puncturing the condenser while I drill holes for the transmission cooler.

I traveled a lot for work so once again on the road and I hit 200k mi and this is the view at that moment.

Ruffed up rims w sandpaper
Washed in muratic acid
Rinsed w water
Painted w 3 coats of rustoleum rubberized undercarriage spray
Painted w 3 coats of current color rustoleum.

Started chipping off about 6mo later.

I should not have used the ruberized undercarriage spray.... Should have used the truck bed lining.

Does anyone know how to remove the coating w o brute force ? Sand blasting maybe ...?

Installed wheel spacers, only left the rear ones on.

The front ones made tire rub much worse once I upsized my tires to 285/75/16

This lil guy was the source of a misfire in cylinder 5
I think it cost $23... Not bad. I replaced ignition coil in cylinder 1 a year later... Almost exactly a year lol like with in a few days to be precise.

Smashed the heck outbid my thumb, blood already started pooling under the nail so I sanitized w vodka and drilled a hole to relive the pressure and kept my thumbnail !

Installed lower fog lights... I know they r supposed to go in sideways but I like this look better... So high off the ground, do the lights actually work like fog lights.... I guess it depends how high the fog is....

He almost left w o me !

Regardless of how many times I replace one of these, I always appreciate the engineering behind them!

Installed coil overs , replaced brake pads, and painted calipers.

These are some oocs of the coil over install and replacing both upper and lower ball joints.

Man those coil overs work almost as good as they look !!!

I went over a massive dip in the road at 45mpg that most cars slow down to 20 to keep from bottoming out, I could hardly tell it was there !!! I felt it once and then the suspension ex leveled right back out, no after bounce!

Many of us are ppl who modify objects and give them a purpose other than intended, not all of us have the same goal but I can definitely appreciate the ideas, dedication, and effort that others put into there projects.

Saw this in KC, I couldn't help but smile and take a pic, I love that movie !
