Awesome build man! Where did you order the sport hood from?

Thx!

Man, I don't remember... I searched for awhile... I think I got mine through some mass wholesaler and was shipped via greyhound for free but took 9 days to get here and I paid $89, but I didnt do my research :( the hood scoop insert is not included :( and it's actually 3 different parts.... And the scoop is the most expensive part ! All 3 parts separately and new run close to 300 or more ! I found a salvage one in Maryland and had it shipped w a total of $138.00 !!! Ya, for a used scoop insert. I still laugh at how the scoop is more expensive than the hood, not to mention The hood came w free shipping and I had to pay like 19 bucks for shipping for the scoop insert.

But here is a site I found real quick like....

And I also replaced an upper ball joint.... But who wants to see all that again ...?
Had a hell of a time getting the old one out! Most difficult one so far ! Had a pickle fork west in between, a torch heating the outside and sledge hammer hitting the top of it...finally it broke loose. Ugh.....

Heard a clunk/clank sound while turning and having negative movement in suspension. All lbj and ubj r inside of a ur new. Went to check inner tie rods and found this leaking....

Tightens up the ar erring rack guide, first too tight and could hardly turn then just barely loose enough to turn and it helped a lil w the noise but it's still there. Sink put some peer steering fluid stop leak in it to oped ull help it until the parts arrive....

So after finding out I had to replace the rack to eliminate the sound, (atleast what I thought) i Installed a new steering rack, tie rod ends, lowered front suspension via coil overs, and got an alignment. Drives soooooooooo much better !

Now I can actually feel that lil jigle in the steering column, might have to fix that sometime in the future but for now I'm stoked about how much better my suspension is :)

One can do this with basic tools, and elbow grease.... Those 2 steering fluid hoses on the top part are the MOST difficult to get loose but it is possible, ull have to disconnect the away bar end links so u an move the away bar back and forth out of ur way.

Aftermath:
Tried to figure out how to bleed the power steering system.... Ya, found out u don't have to because the system works all the way through and back the other way to purge the system of air itself..... I'm an idiot.

after filling the power steering reservoir I started the 4runner and turned the steering wheel all the way one way and then the other. Then turned it off and added more fluid again, and repeated.

Then I drove it, man was the steering off !!!!

And I still heard the lil pop noise !!! Arghhhhh !!!!!

While I was under and working on the suspension I shock the car and could hear the noise ever so often.... And came to the conclusion the rubber body spacer and bolt were just loose enough to wiggle and make a lil sound... So I tighten the hell out of it and it stopped the sound (which I thought was the rack, discovered the rack was bad, tried cheaper fixes, didn't work, replaced rack, found where the true origin of the sound was and fixed it)

I also lowered the front suspension to lessen the tension on the front components.

Side note: after all this I have 1 old rack in aaw u need a core and 1 new unused rack for sale.
