Stability control

I am a little bit leary about getting a vehicle with stability control. How much does it interfere with your driving? Does it really work in slippery conditions like snow? Car and Driver magazine was not impressed with the stability control.....they said it was calibrated too conservatively, but we all know that car and driver is a bunch of agressive driving sports car enthusiasts.....not exactly the 4runners fort

Since driving my 4runner, VSC has been activated only a few times (2-3 from memory). Of course, i have not driven it in snow yet since i am in TX. It does not interfere with daily driving unless there's a lot of slippage (snow).

In my opinion, you WANT VSC to interfere early in SUVs! In a sports car, it's different. SUVs have poor balance and tends to tip over...so VSC should be more aggressive.

C&D also said the same about Mercedes' and BMW's system. So, it's not just Toyota.

For me, i will never buy a car/SUV without VSC.
