Standard Equipment on Limited trim level

Again- thanks everybody for your suggestions. She finally understands where to look. Either she drove the vehicle so little she never noticed it or like somebody said up top it 99% doesn't have it. I am waiting to hear back from her now. If it has the diff lock I will probably go look a the rig on Monday.

And yeah- it is definitely a Limited 4WD, sorry I didn't state that explicitly.

I was mostly just impatient and frustrated with the seller and hoping you guys would be able to (truthfully) tell me what I wanted to hear.

There were a few standard equipment items on a 3rd gen Limited, but the Rear Locker wasn't one of them. I think it was a "likely" option though. I don't think I've ever come across a Limited up here in Canada that didn't have the Rear Locker, but I'm sure there are some.

Like, I know that no Limiteds were available with the 5-Speed Manual from the factory. They were all Automatics.

So I finally got some closure- the rig I am looking at has the diff lock, so I will probably make the drive.

I'm also interested in folks opinions- I am looking at two '98 Limited with diff locks and the works as far as options, they are equal. The frames are in about equal condition, pretty decent. They are even the same color.

One has 155k but has some significant rust on one of the rockers, the hood is peeling and a rear door needs to be replaced. The interior is in fair to good condition, with wear and some minor tears in the leather seats.

The other has 170k but in immaculate condition in terms of both exterior and interior.

The question: Is it worth dealing with the rust and cosmetic issues for 15-20k fewer miles? I am leaning towards the higher mileage one. It is truly spotless inside and out, and I doubt it smells like dog, which the lower mileage one does. (Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs, but I make sure they don't stink when the go for truck rides).

What do you say folks?

Mileage means nothing!

Overall condition is a much better indicator than a few thousand miles or even 100,000 for that matter. I would rather buy a clean overall truck with 200k than a A truck that may need rust repair have worn out paint and interior but only has 100k. To me it shows that if the other stuff was taken care of then most likely the maintenance was also.
Long story short go look at the rust free with higher mileage one. Forget the other one. If you don't like it keep looking one will pop up for sale.
And by the way my '96 Limited 4x4 auto does not have the locker. The original owner had planed to put one in but only got around to installing the switch. So make sure you look at the rear end and not just for the switch. I may install one some day but right now I don't really need it.

Another vote on higher mileage one. 20k miles is basically nothing.
